Help Sign PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Solution given --Data (Excel) merge to (Word) directory

I have the Excel data prepared and have prepared a main doc in Word for the dirctory. However, in spite of my years of merge experience I have a problem I have NEVER ENCOUNTERED BEFORE. Now I really need some help.

It seems that the merge is working fine EXCEPT that it is merging only every other line of data in Excel. I have used the command and the (with if the lname field is NOT blank) and both look like they are working, picking up the data, etc. Except upon checking I found it was only using every other line of data. There are no blank lines. There is nothing wierd about the data or the main doc. So what in the world is going on.

Appreciate any help I can get and luv'n you for it!

SOLUTION: The Next, Next Record, or Next Record If commands are not needed when you select the "Directory" merge when setting up the program. If you do, the Next, etc., commands think you are getting a new record and starting a "new page" and therefore skips a record. If you select the "directory" type of merge to be done and then input your fields in the order you desire, it will automatically merge all records or the specific records you desire.

So simple..... yet it threw me for awhile.

I know how to merge data -- but this one has me stumped. Wish I could help.
