The cities they have listed for Maine aren't even cities. They are little rinky dink towns! I live in Bangor, the second biggest city and its not on here!

I have a feeling that this offer is being made to only rinky dink towns -- the purpose being to bring reading to the lower socio-economic areas esp those that may not have that expansive a library offering.

The communities pay for these programs themselves...I just read all about her program, it is kind of interesting. But, as far as I can see, the communities that are participating in my state all have Head start...and Head Start already provides a good amount of books to the preschool children in those areas.

Any community can participate...it's just a matter of getting it started for yours
