The Petco's in our area give certain grades the chance to have a classroom aqaurium and they provide all the maintenance, costs,etc. I know our store last year was 3-5 grade classrooms.

They do this every year and have only so many they can do, so if you are interested be sure to go in and check on it now so they can get it started! They have a short form and then you're good to go!

Lots of great science lessons not to mention how to incorporate language and math into the mix!

The kids love it. It can be an observation center. Kids write about what they see or take the point of view of the fish and write what the fish is seeing. The later turns out really cute.

Uhhhh, yea you do...its not just some chintzy tank...friends that did it got awesome tanks and the kids DO love it...Plus its a very calming thing for ADD/ADHD kids as well as those with ANXIETY so in the end you benefit!
