I was surprised to find this out today so I thought I would share...

I have to get insulin for my diabetic cat. I always call around to find the lowest price, since we pay cash and do not go thru insurance (the cat doesn't have a job LOL). Last time I had it filled at Target since it was the cheapest, but this time, Walgreens was the cheapest. I was on the phone with the Target pharmacy clerk and told her this and she said they would price match whatever store was cheaper, they would just need to call to confirm the price.

I was happy to save $25 and the hassle of transferring the Rx to Wags!

I didn't ask and the clerk didn't specify... but the prescription was for Lantus insulin which is used for humans also....would be worth checking with them for other prescriptions!

I am a pharmacist for Target, and this is true for all medications, not just for pets.
