Target Complaint Our town has waited and waited and waited for a Target. We finally got one in July. It is small, but better than Wal-mart. I go there at least twice a week, especially since it is so close to my house and seems to have some pretty good deals. Very soon after it opened I got out to my car and noticed some of my items were not there (they were cold and I always stack my cold items together in my trunk). I went back in to get it and it was an entire bag of groceries, that had already been sent to customer service to be put back, literally with in 3 minutes. A couple of months ago the person in front of me left a bag and when the cashier realized it he just said oh, and set it aside, didn't try to go after them or even send someone else. Since these two incidents, I have made extra sure to check, and double check before I leave, to make sure that I have all of my items. Just last week, I said, "Where is my XXXXXXX?" Sure enough it was in a bag in front of the cashier, just waiting for someone else to take it home. It was a $16.99 item!!!! Needless to say I was not happy. I first atributed it to being a new store, but being that it has happened so many times in such a short amount of time I am starting to feel like it is a conspiracy. Has anyone else had this same sort of problem?

your prolly getting a cashier that just doesnt care. we had a cashier like at my store. when i gstl'd she would just let ppl walk off without there items because she didnt set it out for them and say "oh well" it finally got to the point that i was in her line one day after work at got someone stuffs. atleast 50 dollers worth of grocerys. i took them back when i went into work the next day. i hate to come down on the cashiers but some of them know that sometimes its hard for target to fire a person after there 90 days. so they abuse that and some gstls dont like to "coach" that certain person.. im sorry for your troubles. call and talk to an lod and express your concerns. or ask to speak to the store team leader if there not there let the lod know that you need to speak with the store team lead. im sure they will make sure this stops happening because target looses money when people leave things.

There was a woman in front of me at CS last week complaining of the same thing. CS was like "oh, just go get them and bring them here" she replied "you are missing the point they were for last night, I want a refund". Sometimes stuff like that just happens I guess.

I don't think it's just a Target thing. I've had it happen at a lot of stores. Most recently, K-mart (I hadn't been in a K-mart since before Halloween but saw the deal on the $12 box of diapers and had to go). Anyway, I think it's just a cashier thing...some are very conscientious and some are not. Guess it's a roll of the dice when you go in to any store.

Oh geez, it's not a conspiracy! I don't know how many times I've ran out, full blazes ahead, after a customer in the parking lot because either he/she or me was absent minded. Sometimes, it can get busy....or perhaps the customer forgot to grab the bags too. It just happens....

I have noticed this too at Target and Wal-Mart. I always watch to make sure they give me all of my bags. Fifty per cent of the time, I have to ask for my bag "over there". They aren't paying attention and if I weren't, I would not get all of my items. They need to pay better attention and check their bagging stations and make sure they give each customer their packages after the transaction is complete, before moving on to the next customer.

I will give ours credit, because I did have a cashier chase me down in the parking lot. I had bought a 99 cent box of valentines for my daughter to give away at our little party and the cashier forgot to throw them in the bag. I usually check and didn't think about, but she chased me down to get them to me in the parking lot. When I got to the car I wrote down her name and called Target to compliment her on such good service! She deserves the credit for helping me out in that aspect!

I am not trying to start anything with anyone (just an opinion, mind you), but it doesn't do any harm is grabbing your own bags either. When I was cashiering, most people grabbed their own bags while I was processing the rest of their transaction. I always tried to load the cart for the customer if I was fast enough, but technically, there was nothing in the training books that said we had to put the bags in the customer's cart. It's just an automatic customer service thing I think you should do as the cashier.

I've started using my own bags, and I really like the new reusable ones from Target. That way, I know where my stuff is and the cashiers do too!

Thanks for all of the comments. Our Target has the bags directly in front of the cashiers. There is no way for they customer to check, they can ask the cashier to check, but there is no way to look on your own. Also there is no self check, I would definately do this, as I usually do it at Wal-mart and the grocery store.

This is definatly a 2 way street. I have seen people leave items in the carts in the lot. They complained it was the cashiers fault? I have seen cashiers leave items in a bag on the hooks. I think sometimes everyone is in such a hurry they don't watch what is going on. Cashiers are rushing to make sure they get good score times, guests are checking their cell phones. It certainly is not on purpose on either person. I know we keep track of which cashiers have a history of left packages and retrain on that issue. I know as a customer it drives me batty when that happens. I live 40 miles away from any shopping so if a bag is left behind it is a royal pain.

Wow I didn't think there were so many stories out there. My SIL once left a bag realized it when she got home went to the store the next day with the receipt they couldn't find the bag told her if she left it they put the stuff back. They looked at the video of the day before with the receipt having the date, time and cashier and sure thing they saw that she didn't take one of the bags so they let her go through the store and pick up all that was missing. I myself had several bad experiences and one good one. I had both kids in tow with both crying and acting up so I was in a hurry to leave, and left the bag behind the cashier called out to me and brought me my bag (very nice). Another time I had a cashier who took my gift card it still had $20 on it and again with my not so quiet kids I just wanted to get out of there and didn't realize she didn't give me back my gift card. I called when I got home and a manager went to her check out and the gift card was in the trash (uuhhh) good thing I called right away. Then there is the matter of coupons, one of my target says they don't take combination coupons Target and Manf. I emailed target and I am waiting for that manager again to show her the response. Then there is the target that is near my house LOVED IT now they won't except internet printed coupons (UUUUHHHHHH) So it all depends on who's in charge that day and what there mood is. Thank you all for listening I feel better. ![]()

I agree with Mississippi Queen. I personally have walked items from the parking lot back up to the service desk. Once I found a $18 can of formula in a cart outside. Fortunately the receipt was with it and it was purchased with a credit card so they credited whoevers account it was. I wonder if they will do that if you leave a bag at the checkout with a receipt in it or if a target employee finds a bag with a receipt in the lot.

Oh, I forgot that a year ago a Target cashier was running a Target Gift Card scam!!! She'd hang on to gift cards that were already redeemed with 0 balance, and then hand that back to while slipping your card with a balance still on it in her pocket. She got me for $10, I was too busy and didn't notice the gift cards were a little different til later. She got a friend of mine for $25. She finally got caught and fired. Who knows how many ppl she scammed! So make sure you get the RIGHT gift card back from the cashier!
