I just went to the Target in Camarillo, CA and the cashier told me that management has told them to check all the coupons they get during checkout, make sure they aren't expired!

I can't say that I am surprised. My Target hasn't told me that so when I was cashiering (I work mostly GSTL and Guest Service Desk duties) to watch out for them, but it might have something to do with getting reimbursed from the manufacturer. Just be lucky you got away with them as long as you did!

Expired coupons? HAH! As if I don't have enough trouble using regular valid coupons... I won't even bother....

I LOVE my Target!! They take all my Q's and smile about it!!

I honestly don't care about the coupon change whatsoever. Because expired is expired. I may have taken them before as a cashier, but I've never tried using one. Maybe I am too afraid! LOL

Oh man, I was worried when I opened this thread... I have never tried to use expired coupons... so I guess no change for me here either. You guys are so lucky that you can or have been able to use expired!

Some targets take their own expired coupons but this is something you should ask and not just "try out"...IMO

There is a reason expiration dates are put on coupons, if we could use them whenever, then they wouldn't put expiration dates on them...it's like saying it's okay to give your kid expired milk because it's been in the fridge and noone will know but you! Those dates are on their for a reason....I guess I sound like I'm preaching, but I'm just really tired of having my valid Qs scrutinized so much on legit transactions when trying to save money because other people have taken advantage of a good system ...before I started earnestly couponing I wasn't even aware of how many fake Qs there even were out there...never mind that people were using expired coupons after the date...in my opinion, and again just my opinion you can take it for what it's worth...those dates and coupon redemption rules are put in place for a reason...I know some places don't get reimbursed for those Qs if sent in after a certain date and then they get tougher on all Qs....but again I also know that some places (like military commisaries) will take expired up to a certain dates...I just don't think doing it in legit regular brick and mortar stores that have rules they must abide by is right...again just my 2 cents worth!! Ok, off the soapbox now!

My kids drink expired milk all the time. Just because the SELL BY DATE has passed doesn't mean the milk has gone bad.
