Target added a limit to "like" coupons:
Limit of 4 identical coupons per household, per day (unless otherwise noted on coupon)

As well as a new return policy:
Returns of items purchased using Manufacturer coupons may receive coupon value returned in the form of a Target GiftCard.

Rainchecks: If you want a specific size, color, or flavor of something, get the actual DPCI number from the shelf for that particular item. There are 9 digits in the DPCI number in format of XXX-XX-XXXX.

They expire after 45 days. If you happen to be at another Target store that does have the item in stock, they should honor the raincheck.

School Supplies: Look for sales to start in mid July. Clearance is generally the first week in September. Some items could get marked down a little earlier.

All holidays except Christmas follow the 3-3-2 rule:

The first 3 days after the holiday are 50% off.
The next 3 days are 75% off.
The next 2 days are 90%.
After that it goes to salvage.

Price Adjustments: 7 days except for clearance items. Generally, you do not have to bring the item back. Only the receipt to Guest Service.

How to get Target home mailer coupons? There currently is no clear cut way. Some people who have a registry, Target card or purchased from Target.com get them. You could also try calling the 1-800 phone number and speak to a customer service representative.

Is there a limit to the number of Target coupons per transaction?
The store manager may choose to do so. It is best to ask the following questions:

Limit of identical items in a transaction?
Limit number of coupons in a transaction?
Accept IP (Internet Printable) coupons, any restrictions?
Accept expired coupons - manufacturer or Target? Most don't.

Trial Sizes: If a manufacturer coupon does not have a size restriction, you may be able to get the trial size free.

AFC policy regarding Overage:

Overage is not policy at Target. Coupons are normally adjusted to the price of the product!

Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping with us, and it's easy to use them at our stores. When accepting coupons, we follow the guidelines below.

Target stores coupon policy

Manufacturer and Target Coupons:
•Target accepts one Manufacturer Coupon and one Target Coupon for the same item (unless prohibited by either coupon).
•We reserve the right to accept, refuse, or limit the use of any coupon.
•Limit of 4 identical coupons per household, per day (unless otherwise noted on coupon).
•All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier during checkout.
•Item purchased must match the coupon description (brand, size, quantity, color, flavor, etc.).
•Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
•We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.
•All applicable sales taxes are paid by the guest at the full value of the item.
•These guidelines apply to all coupons accepted at Target (Color Checkout Coupons, Internet Coupons, •Mobile Coupons, Mailed Coupons, Coupons from Newspapers and Magazines, etc.).

Internet (Print-at-Home) Coupons:
•We gladly accept valid internet coupons that contain a clear and scannable bar code.
•We do not accept internet coupons for free items with no purchase requirements.

Mobile Coupons:
•Guests can receive Target Mobile Coupons by signing up for Text Alerts at Target.com/mobile or by texting COUPONS to 827438 (TARGET).
•Message and data rates may apply. See site for full details.
•To redeem, simply show your coupon barcode to the cashier. With one simple scan, all applicable coupons are applied.

Buy One Get One Free Coupons (BOGO):
•BOGO coupons cannot be combined (i.e. you cannot use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free). Unless stated otherwise on the coupon, the use of one Buy One Get One Free coupon requires that two of the valid items are presented at checkout of which one item will be charged to the guest and the 2nd item will be discounted by its full retail price.
•A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed towards the purchase price of the first item.
•If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon may be used on the first item.
•If a Manufacturer BOGO coupon is used, one additional Target coupon may be used on the first item.

Returns:
•Returns of items purchased using Manufacturer Coupons may receive coupon value returned in the form of a Target GiftCard.

Exclusions:
•Coupons are void if copied, scanned, transferred, purchased, sold, prohibited by law, or appear altered in any way.
•We regularly monitor the Coupon Information Corporation (CIC) website for counterfeit coupons. We do not accept counterfeit coupons.
•We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.
•Some items may not be available at all stores.
•We do not accept expired coupons.
•We do not accept Canadian coupons in our US stores.

Price Match Guarantee: the details

The item must be the identical item, brand name, size, weight, color, quantity and model number.
Limit of one competitor online price match per identical item, per guest.
Price must be valid at the time the price match is requested.
Retail price must be shown on the website or print ad. Online prices will be validated by a Target team member.
Competitor online items must be in stock at the time a price match is requested.
Competitor catalogs can be matched as long as the catalog displays a current date, retail price and meets all other competitor ad match qualifications.
If item is not available in a Target store, a rain check will not be issued to match the online price or competitor’s print ad.
We reserve the right to verify a competitor’s advertised price and the availability of the item.

Competitor exclusions:

Alaska and Hawaii Target stores are excluded from online competitor price matching.

Prices from other Target stores.
Online prices from competitors not listed above.

Price exclusions:

“Marketplace” prices: Price matched items must be sold by Walmart.com, Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, ToysRUs.com, or BabiesRUs.com; prices from third party sellers on these websites will not be honored.
Prices that only display on a website after guests log in.
Clearance, closeout, damaged product, used, refurbished, open packages or liquidation sales.
Prices advertised only as a percent off or dollar off.
Paid membership club or paid loyalty programs (e.g. prices that require a club or loyalty card that is associated with a membership fee).
Buy one, get one if the retail price is not shown in the advertisement.
Competitor coupon-required.
Competitor price matches on items where Target or the competitor is offering a free gift card.
Mail-in offers or instant rebates.
Offers that include financing.

Ad exclusions:

Items advertised as limited time/limited supply/limited quantity.
Black Friday ads (including adjusting prices for previously purchased items).
Pricing or typographical errors.

Item exclusions:

Non-branded items (e.g., produce not marketed under a specific brand name).
Product services (warranties, assembly, etc.).
Target Portrait Studio, Optical and Clinic offers.
Contract cell phone plans and devices.

Target team member discounts may not be used with online competitor price match. All matches are done against pre-tax prices; guest is responsible for applicable taxes.

Target may modify these terms at any time.


What do you mean by local retail competitors?

This refers to retail stores located within the same market area as a particular Target store. Examples of a market area can be a city, a metropolitan area or a specific rural region.


What qualifies as proof of a price?

For printed ads: please show us the entire printed advertisement. Photos, photocopies, or mobile phone versions (of the ad cannot be accepted as verification of a competitor’s printed ad.
For online prices: please show us your mobile device or a printout from a qualifying competitor’s website or Target.com. A Target team member will then verify the match using a Target device.

Can I use a coupon when price matching?

A guest can use coupons when price matching per Target's normal coupon policy. When the guest presents a coupon(s), these steps will be followed:

- Manufacturer coupons: manufacturer coupons will be applied after the price match is made.
- Target coupons: Target coupons will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor's price.
- Combining both Target and manufacturer coupons: the Target coupon will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor's price. Once the price match is made the manufacturer coupon will be applied.
- Reminder: we accept one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item unless either coupon prohibits it. Target does not ad match a competitor’s coupon-required offers.

City Target Price Matching

If this store advertises a lower in-store price the same week or the week following your purchase, bring in your original CityTarget store receipt for a price adjustment during the ad.
