Target's New Coupon Policy?

Target's coupon must have changed. I was there tonight and was told they only accept ONE coupon for each item purchased regardless of whether it is a target web coupon or a mfr. Only one coupon!! I went to the cust serv desk and was told the same thing by 2 other cashiers and the manager. I bought the quaker oatmeal bites which were 2.19, and had 1.00 mfr coupon, and the 1.00 target web coupon. The cashier would only take my mfr coupon and directed me to the cust serv for the target ones. I was only able to use one and not both.

I would call corporate before believing ANYTHING your local Target tells you.

Honest.

Call corporate and ask them about the coupon policy.

Can't wait to see what is put out for printables tomorrow....I'm ready for an overage deal!

I used a ton of coupons at target yesterday. I got diapers and used a manufacturer coupon for each, a $3 off when you buy wipes and diapers and $5 when you buy $20 worth of pampers diapers coupon. No problems. Also used some $4/free coupons for purina one, got some of the free canisters and some of the bags and used with those a target coupon for $1/purina dog or cat food.

I had a Target tell me that in Canton, Michigan...but then I called corporate and found out that it is in fact a LIE. You are allowed to use one MFG coupon and one STORE coupon for each item in your shopping cart.

It was explained to me that the store coupon is not a coupon, but an extension of the sales price and they get the full monte back from the mfg plus a handling fee.

Armed with the name and number of the my district manager for Target, I headed back to the store and almost got the same story...until I whipped out the DM's phone number and my cell phone...the manager said "he would do it THIS time" and a cashier mumbled as I walking away "guess we gotta think of a new rule, target's gonna go out of business because of these customers"

So...another call to corporate, it netted "these customers" with a $25-for-your-grief gift certificate!

Wow, you did good! All I got was 2 $3 "apology" coupons. Better than nothing though! (That was just last week from a complaint I made back in December )

I emailed Target this morning and they responded with this...

Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping at Target, and we make it easy to use them at our stores. But because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target:

-We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued coupons.
-We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
-We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item; in that case, we'll adjust the value of the coupon to equal the price of the item.
-We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.

All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier at the time of sale.

Have questions or want more information about using coupons at Target? Check with a Guest Services Team Leader at your Target store. You can also give us a call at (800) 440-0680, or visit us on Target.com. Either way, we're here to help!

Thanks for shopping with us. We'll see you again soon at Target.

Sincerely,

Glenn

Wow...I should do that! But I ended up returning the granola bites and the coupons expired on 4/28/07 so I don't think I am in any luck. I will however carry the letter posted above with me the next time I shop at Target.

My Target has a history of being poops! After I got done with my transaction of Cascade Complete, Bounty, and Archer Farms Honey Ham with my stack of coupons, the CSR came by and ask the cashier if everything was ok after my transaction ended. Uggg, I hate that. They act like it's coupon fraud! Don't create the coupon if you don't want us to use them.

I had my Target tell me the other day they can't take expired coupons anymore and they can only take one formula "coupon" (those checks) per item now. Otherwise, I was able to use all my diaper coupons (the $5.00 off, mfg, the $3.00 diaper/wipe coupon etc). without any problems.

Just yesterday I found $1 coupons for Quaker Oats granola bites, so I thought I might try them with an expired coupon today. Not expecting it to work, but if it does I will be very happy!

Gotta stock up on my Pampers and bounty too!

I always thought it was 1 formula check per formula purchase. I've never heard of being able to use more than 1 check on 1 can before.

Get this... I had a cashier tell me they didn't accept internet coupons. When I told her they are Target coupons then she told me she couldn't accept them if they were "copies". I told her they weren't... um couldn't I print out 850 million if I wanted though? I didn't argue with her because she was clearly not getting it.

You can print them off IN THE STORE!!! Take a manager over to the registry kiosks and show them, they come right out of their own machines for cryin' out loud!

I have only found a few - the same ones on their website available to print at my local Target. I always go to SuperTarget coupons. Is there somewhere else I should be checking

The (only) ones on the Target/ SuperTarget website are the CURRENT week's coupons.
If you're looking for coupons posted earlier (but not yet expired) they're on this website's coupon generator as well as a few other sites.

WOW I never realized that you can actually print the coupons off in the store. There have been times that I have forgotten the coupons and have had to go back later in the day to make that purchase...
I guess I should check these machines out and find out what is actually on them!

Yes it is only the coupons on the Target website that week. You can access the Target/SuperTarget website on the registry kiosks. It will look the same as your home computer. Access them on the SuperTarget coupon page. It will print off all 6 (or 8) on the screen, but if you forgot them, it is better than nothing!
