Well I went to target today and tried to get 2 gift cards, and like always it didn't work out as planned. I bought ten participating items, but only got one gift card. So I went to customer service to see why I didn't get 2. After looking over my reciept like 20 times, then looking at the sign on the endcap, she tells me it's because I used coupons! Is this right?! I used 3 BYGO, $1.50/2 candles, $1/2 oils. What went wrong?

I'm sorry if this is answered somewhere in the thread already, but I'm curious if anyone has bought the air fresheners that are a part of this deal? I haven't looked at what q's I have so not sure if there is a good deal or not, but I am getting a little tired of holding my breath everytime I hand the cashier the bogo blinkies, so wondering if there were other options out there!

The EXACT SAME THING happend to me on Monday! She said that the computer isn't prompting for the second $5 GC when you use the B1G1 mQ (I used 5 B1 candle/tin G1 refill free and 5 $1.50/1 tins mQ). I said that couldn't be right, because I had bought 10 earlier in the week and gotten 2 GC. In my case, the cashier only rang up 9 of my 10 glade items, therefore not prompting the other GC. I discovered this in the parking lot after examining my reciept for "10 minutes" (according to my DH). The return was a MAJOR hassel (and took 20 minutes with 2 team members and the store manager - doesn't help that the recipet was confusing and they kept counting the GC as glade item), but I returned the 9 items and the $5 GC and then re-checked out with the 10 items. They pulled my mQ from the drawer and rescanned them and I got my 2 $5 GC.

My DH has now said no more "Target Glade GC scheming" and has been jokingly refering to this as a "racket" for about a week. FTR: I've only done the deal 5 times ($25 in GC and 25 candles), and I still may do it one more time, if I can find more MQs in the paper. But I know what all my co-workers are getting for Christmas!

MY Target is OUT OF STOCK....
I guess I have to be patient....I just wish I could get different scents....I REALLY want the pine scented candles....but it seems as though ONLY Wal-Mart carries them..

yes, according to the glade site the holly berry wreath is a walmart exclusive this year so target won't be carrying it. hope that helps!

QUESTION!!! if somehow we could get the deal printed would Walmart match it. Would Walmart give a $5 gc? And really any of the gc deals would Walmart match.

Walmart only price matches actual prices... not GC deals or even deals where you get something free when you buy something else (like toys r us often has)... they don;t even accept BOGO coupons!

You should have gotten them. The system dosent know if your using coupons when the cashier scans them. I assume you give your coupons after all items are scanned right? If they scanned all 10 you should have gotten the 2 gift cards as long as all 10 items were from the holiday collection.

I was so worried that after the q's came out in Sunday's paper, everything would be gone, but there's still a lot left...the only bad thing is no more q's in the tins...the tins are trashed, especially at walmart (yea, I checked!) ppl opened up the tins and even had the nerve to take the candle! then threw the remnants in the way back....that's pretty rude...now stores are really gonna lose money when people are actually stealing the candles!

if you havnt done the SC johnsons rebate yet and still want the holly berry you may consider just getting those at walmart for the rebates and getting the rest at target for the GC? i think i may have my sister do hers that way.......

i dont see why you couldnt- i used 3 of the 5.00 at once......id make sure each GC they hand you is actually filled with the 5.00 before you leave the store. some have been getting 0.00 on their gift cards from target

Hi everyone, I went to target tonight and the cashier tryed to keep my gift card said she toke it off of my total I had to go to cs to get it straight I was really upset I told the manger they need to learn the deal and teach the cashiers how they work

I had been happily buying candles for a while now with no problems at all, except that they were occasionally out of stock. I have had to be creative with my combinations in order to get free candles, even when they were not money makers (for example, not always multiples of 5, sometimes a mixture of coupons or products... anything to get free candles).

Tonight at Target I was told that I could not use my coupons because some of them said "Not subject to doubling."

"Target does not double coupons" I replied.

"Well you can't use more than one. That's doubling" they responded.

They said that they would not be reimbursed if they accepted my coupons. Both the cashier and the manager stuck by this story, even after I explained what doubling means. "Every store is different" was the manager's explanation. Seriously? Doubling?! There's no industry-wide consensus on what doubling a coupon is?

UNBELIEVABLE. They had no idea what they were talking about, but it's their store to run I suppose.

This was my first negative experience at Target ever. The staff has always been so friendly and helpful in the past. I'm still in shock.

That isn't correct, when they told you that you didn't get the GC's because you used q's; and the reason is, when the cashier scans the 5th item, the register prompts them to scan a GC for you. They cannot proceed further until they do that. And that part of the transaction is even before you were to give over any q's or pay; so it has nothing to do with if you are going to use q's or not.

It sounds like it is yet another Target's employees who can't figure out what went wrong; so they "come up" with some "explaination"; that isn't even correct. I have nothing against the employees; they are very nice; but it seems everyone has a different explanation for everything.

Someone else had posted on another Target Glade candle thread about their purchase not coming up with a second GC as it should; & I posted explaining the same thing to them.

What I had encountered one time was that I was doing a transaction of 10 items & the second GC didn't come up. I mentioned this to the cashier when he told me the total; this was before I handed over any q's or money to pay; I knew that I should have gotten a 2nd GC. He told me that it was correct & I told him I should have gotten the 2nd GC. Sure enough, when he checked, he had only scanned 9 items; the 10th item was still on the conveyer belt. He scanned the 10th item, & I got the 2nd GC.

It could be that they didn't scan 10 items for you; or that one item was not in the promotion to qualify for the 2nd GC.

What you were told doesn't make sense for a second reason from what I said in the first paragraph. You used q's & got one of the GC's; so it can't be that you can't use q's to get the GC. Again, they were "drawing at straws" to come up with some reason; but it wasn't correct.

Before I pay, I make sure I get both GC's & if something is wrong, I have them re-ring it up.

Hope you figure out what went wrong. Again, you can obviously use q's, as it worked for your first GC. So the registers are set up correctly. Either the cashier didn't enter/scan in all the 10 items, or one item wasn't correct; that would be my educated guess.

It goes to show that all stores are as different as we are. Some are great and ,,, well others are not. (stores only there) And how we know what is going on and THEY think that they do? Go figure!!!!!

I am not sure if this has been posted or not yet, but today I spotted "Holiday" French Vanilla Refill Packs!!! I was not able to get anything b/c they were all out of the tins and holders, but I will definitely be stocking up on these (if they still have them)!!
