$5 Target Gift Cards

Target is selling house brand CANDY CORN and "Autumn Mix" Candy bags for 99 cents each.

They are clear plastic on the front with a wraparound orange colored plastic.

You can clearly see the candy in the bag, along with a cardboard Target gift card.

The bag advertises "win up to $500".

Very simple. You scratch off a corner of the card to reveal if you have won either

a. NOTHING
b. $5 Target GC
c. $500 Target GC

if you have won the $500 one, you must call the 800 # which is under the scratch-off area.. however if you have won a $5 GC no activation is required!!!!!!!

What do you do?

Take several bags of the candy to the target.com (aka bridal or gift registry) kiosks usually located next to customer service at Target.

Then use the kiosk and click on "target gift cards" and on the next screen click "check gift card balance".

From there it is easy to check the balance on the gift cards in the bags of candy WITHOUT having to OPEN THE BAGE and WITHOUT having to BUY THE BAGS FIRST!!

Each bag costs 99 cents, so it's an easy $4 profit per bag, NO LIMIT!!!

The odds of winning a $5 card are about 1 in 1100, but you would be surprised how easy it seems to be so far to find "winning" bags.

So I guess you could grab a cart full ~ grab a seat in garden section and call the 800 # for balances!

This is easier that the free bag coupons from Hersheys summer bags a few years ago!

OMG, what a headache. I called in #s from about 10 bags, all of them I had to input more than once. None had GCs.

I hope someone finds one. The odss are just not that good, maybe if it was 1/100 but 1/1100 for the $5 GC.

then off to the mall and B&BW for free lotions and sprays
got a dozen and a dozen $1 gift bags

OMG is right!!! I went to the kiosk and entered about 15 of those, no winners. I also felt like I was doing something terribly wrong, so I'm not going back and doing that again!
However, I did get my free Pupperoni's, free airheads, free green giant veggies, and free Purina dog/cat food, so it wasn't a wasted trip!

Wow, this little "adventure" sounds almost as much fun as entering codes for the mycokerewards.com stuff!

Next to clipping UPC's off SunnyD, entering these rewards codes is about the worst thing I've done for couponing/refunding/freebies!

ok - I know about the free air heads - but can someone explain the free Pupperonis, free GG veggies and the Free Purina dog/cat food for me ??? How could I have missed ALL OF THOSE ?????????

The free Pup-peroni was in this last Sunday's Parade magazine, the free Green Giant & Purina coupons came snail mail. Look under the freebie section to sign up for the coupons. (Green Giant one may be a dead end, though!) HTH

I am way to chicken to use the airheads coupon anymore. It is listed on the Coupon Information Center website as a fake coupon. I wrote the site and told them I got it off the website, and there excuse was it HAS not been on there site for months and they know people have PDF files of them. Susposely the valid ones have a number up on the upper right hand side.... Just a heads up for those who didnt know this. It was a great coupon. I used it at a local grocer and got 50 cents overage EVERYTIME I bought them toward my other grocery purchase! I sure miss it

Same here! I loved the overage at Target but I just can't bring myself to use them anymore!

bags of the candy with the giftcards are now 9 cents small and 15 cents large.
