Saw a preview for Oprah on Wed 10/8

They will be talking about savings, and shopping. A family that saves a lot on bills, groceries and such, will be helping another family cut back on expenses. Might be informative for some of us.

Didn't see the whole commercial, but I think the lady from couponmom is going to be on, but I could be wrong. I just got a glance at the picture they put up and it looked like her.

The Oprah people came out to a town just south of me, Brooklyn Park, MN and were filming a family that needed to be on budget. I missed them by about 2 hours. Their bill was kinda high from what the manager said. He told me that I should of been there to cut it in half or more for them.

Yes! I cant wait to see this one. Should be interesting. The ad says their cell phone bill was $5 a mo. and there was going to be families that needed to be on a budget. I love when oprah does finance stuff, esp. Suze Orman etc. Hopefully we can learn something.

I pay only pay $20 a month for my cell phone with 500 minutes w/long distance. I would love to only pay $5 a month.

Karen, I would love to go shopping with you. I think that I would leave with more knowledge than I would know what to do with.

Off topic: I told DH about headstart and talking about coupons, he said, "karen better watch out, before you know it the news station will be at our house, and Karen will have compitation." LOL

Wow! DH and I have 3, yes, 3 cell phones.

Unicel $155 a month for 2 phones
Verizon $220 a month 1 cell and 1 wireless internet card

DH thought the verizon would be better reception and plan price for nation wide, plus needed to get the wireless internet for the laptop. He is a truck driver. One of the Unicel is just for canada coverage, since verizon charges an arm and a leg for Canada.

But when I got the new bills in the mail, my jaw just dropped!! I have no clue what got mixed up, but I think they have us on the largest plan on all the phones and wireless card.

So will be going to Radio Shack tomorrow and try to figure this out. So frustrating.

Really, Don't worry about not seeing it! It was the coupon mom. We all have been to her site and she didn't really tell us anything we all didn't already know and we are all doing exactly what she showed in the grocery store!!

Unless someone comes up with something else besides what we all are already doing, I am not sure there is anyone out there that has a new trick, or some kind of special pixy dust that can do any thing more than what all of us are already doing.
