Turkey Talk...

Has anyone got a free turkey yet? I went through self check out and a catalina did not print out. It just says on the bottom of my receipt...that I earned a free turkey. Is this all I give them when I want to redeem it??

No free turkey yet - but I haven't been trying - I don't have room to store it !

I assumed you get a cat when you earn the turkey. You may have a problem if your cat machine was broken; if you show that receipt at the CSD, they have no way of knowing whether you did or did not receive the q.

My circular says " Purchase $40 qorth of General Mills, etc you will automatically receive a certificate for a FREE TURKEY or $10 off any meat purchase."

That says catalina all over it.

Good luck...

I tried it last week before the triples (I bought a lot of cake and brownie mix ) and it didn't print. The CS just gave me a raincheck that said free turkey up to 20 pounds and I used that.

Well actually on my receipt it says USE THIS CERTIFICATE to redeem your free turkey--yada yada....no catalinas EVER print out in the self check out (I didn't know I woud get my free turkey or I would have gone on a regular lane!). It has a coupon number printed on the receipt but no actual scanning barcode. I'll try to redeem it and see what happens.

I have to fire up my freezer to make room. Between the eggos and the turkey I will need to have my extra freezer ready.

Not yet. I folded and brought my turkey today. At .49 per lb. for Shady~Brook Farm was ok for me. I only shop at SF when they triple or if they good sale that I can get for a reallly low price. I used to go every week when they doubled up to $1.

When I went it didn't note the stuff I bought for the free turkey on the receipt or spit out a catalina. I asked and they gave me a raincheck that said free turkey up to 20 lbs.

Does anyone know if this works for any brand of turkey? Is it a specific kind? I'm seeing the Shady Brook fresh turkey advertised at 78 cents a pound with a note that says 16 cents per pound if you use your $10 off any meat item certificate.
