| SF Trip 10/31
Got up early to get the first pickins of the triples. I really did not do as well as I did the last they had triples. The prices are sooooooo high. I had a lot of Q's and only found a few things. I would up spending more than I wanted to due to items that were on sale that I wanted or needed. Here is what I got that tripled: Luzane Tea 2.89 use .60 Q=1.09 NY Texas Toast Croutons 1.99 used .55Q=.25 Texas Cheese Toast 3.00 used .50 Q=1.50 Hot Pockets Pannis 3.99 used .75 Q=1.74 Nature Valley Granola Bars 2.99 used .50 Q=1.49 6 Yoplait Yogurts 2.46 used .40 Q=1.26 Hillshire Farm Ham 3.50 used .55 Q=1.85 Lean Pockets 2.69used .50 Q=`1.69 Plus some other items that were on sale. I got 35 items for 39.57. Not my best the sale just was just too great for triples this time.

I actually decided to skip it and wait for Harris Teeter triples next week. Just not too good this time.

I don't have a Harris Teeter in my area until the one they are building along I-270 opens next year ( and that is on the way home from work; not close to my house at all ) [pray] Oh, please Lord. I've been a good girl since my last Triple. Please let me do well tomorrow at Superfresh. I need it! Amen! [/pray]

I just got back from my first shopping trip. It was ok. Betty Crocker Potatoes for 20 cents each. They are 4 for $5 and I used $.35 coupon tripled. Also did the BC Frosting, Muir Glen cans at 2.19 for free. (saw that posted by someone else earlier) They had Prego Organic Tomato and Basil for sale at $1.90 each I used .75 / 3 coupon. Keebler cookies are on sale for $1.84 each and I used the .55 for 2 Pillsbury Crescent Rolls were 3 for $5 and I used the $.35 coupons for them. Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls were also 3 for $5, used $.30 coupon Turkey Hill pints are 2 for $3 and I used the $1 off 2 coupon. I took my DS with me and he put stuff in the cart and "diluted" my coupon savings. It was $168 before coupons and my OOP was $59.59. but I also had milk, mushrooms etc. |

Thanks. I forgot to add that Campbell Selects Soups are on sale 4 for $5 and I used $.50 /2, so 50 cents each. I got a bunch of those.

Their prices are soooo high! I am used to the commissary and many, many things I had on my list for SF ended up being MORE w/triple q's there than they would be at my commissary WITHOUT any q's! My total before $149.xx including tax, OOP was $29.xx The only thing that sucked is that I still have to make another trip to my comm. to finish my weekly shopping because I refused to pay their high prices! |

Well, I didn't do as well as I'd hoped. I have few "under .99 cents" coupons right now, as I used many of them at Shopper's last week during their triples event. I'm going to need to stock up! ( rather than q trains and trading, I use a coupon service. I should have bought them last week! ) I got about $210 worth of groceries for $139 - but like momto3boys, I had a lot of other stuff in my cart besides coupon only items. I wish I had done better. *shrugs* A lot of what I bought with q wasn't on sale. had there been a great sale going on, I may have done better.

My BEST advice to everyone when it comes to their triples.... watch the sales in between and when they have stuff that you have a coupon for or know you want and will hopefully get a coupon later... get rain checks. Like I did this with the eggos.. on sale 3/5 and I have a bunch of coupons .55 each so I will be getting them for nearly free. I agree really the only way to make triples rock is with the rain checks. The best about SF is they dont limit you to 6 tipple coupons at a time.

sniff I miss the commissary too, we used to get our meat sooooooo cheap. By watching the sales though and only buying the meat loss leaders we've done well.

| That's what I do, too. I only buy the loss leaders for that week - and have been known to sneak into Safeway ( I can't stand Safeway ) just to pick up chicken breast or steak on sale half price when it isn't on sale at Superfresh.

Back in the day the commissary used to take expired coupons up to 6 months stateside (they still do overseas) and there was no limit on coupons so if you were buying diapers you could use as many coupons as you wanted to get the diapers free. It was a lifesaver to us as a young family just starting out.
