i rarely use self checkout..mostly because the cashiers are actually faster than I am...well today I wanted to use up some q's that are gonna expire on the 7th. I had 13 q's and of course the limit is 6 per transaction. So i did 3 transactions at the self checkout...i got a little frustrated that some stuff scanned and some stuff didn't and even more frustrated that the coupons wouldn't register when i put them in the slot but the front end clerk was really helpful ...it definitely took longer but in the end it was worth it since i didn't have to make extra trips.

Do they have the hand scanner? I find that to be very time saving as I am scanning all the items as I shop. They limit the number of Qs per transaction? I am sure I have used more than 6 in one transaction?

Sometimes the coupons don't register when you put them in the box so I just grab some other filler paper (like register tape or whatever) and put them in again. I agree the cashiers are always very helpful. I really love the customer service at my stop and shop.

I hit the local S&S last night to load up on Progresso veggie soups. Because it wasn't that busy, I hit the self-checkout so that I could split up the transactions and get multiple $1/2 Campbell's Healthy Choice coupons. Everything went through fine except, with all the coupons I had, I ended up tripping the "box full" sensor on the coupon slot. The girl running the registers was very friendly and helpful, though. I usually hit the self-checkout lanes, as there seems to be a longer line in the ones with cashiers.

At my store, if you push in the little shelf, you can just pull out the coupon drawer and pull down the coupon. I usually try to blow on it first and that sometimes does the trick.

My cashiers taught me to "drop" the signature pen into the slot and pull it out when a coupon doesn't register. I use self check out all the time as my S&S will only double 4 like coupons.

I have used as many as 15 or 20 coupon at SCO, These are ones that are 1.00 and don't double, however there are times the drawer gets full. I was also told to use the pen in slot if it does not register. Sometimes someone comes over and opens the drawer and pushes them down.

Worth it to me to use SCO.
