| Foodsaver and pre-packaged foods
Does any use their food saver to suck the air out of pre-packaged foods then store them? If so how long is the product lasting when you do this?

Ive used the hand-held for pasta, but only just started. I use the sealing portion of the heat sealer to repackage chips and they seem to take longer getting stale - added a week or so to the open bag's shelf life. Other than that, I don't think I'm much help for you. Thanks for asking the question because I'd love to read more answers. |

I use my Food Saver to marinade meat. Stick a steak in the bag, some marinade and watch the flavor get sucked right into the meat. I'm sorry that doesn't help the OP but I sure love my steak.

Love my FoodSaver!! My mom does all her packaged items, like cookies and cereal. I use it more for meats and veggies. Celery and romain lettuce last way longer 2-3 weeks

| I use my food saver for meats, cheeses and fresh fruit. It does keep those items longer and it limits my run to the grocery store for things I had to purchase weekly epsecially the fruit.
