| Taking your Stockpile to a Flea Market VS. Yardsale...
Have any of you taken your stockpile and sold it at a fleamarket?? If so, did you find you sold more comparing to a yard/garage sale or the same? Did you keep your prices the same? Just curious, TYIA!

I sell better at a fleamarket than a garage sale. More variety of shoppers and volume of shoppers. I sell at an area fleamarket since early April of this year. I go out every Saturday. BUT, since I've been doing this... Over a dozen "stockpilers" have joined me. I used to make the big bucks, but now its cut in half because they're so many of us set up now. It sucks, but everyone is getting hit hard by the economy now. |

Thanks for the response, elena. I was wondering about that. I have not made it to the fleamarket this year, but I want to go next year, in the Spring to see how many "others" are doing this very thing and if it's worth the time, travel, gas, etc...

The money I make is still worth it, but the totals at the end of the day is a lot smaller than the start of summer. I will say just buy smart when you go to the fleamarket. The bulk deals you buy- make sure its everyday stuff that people would want. I was checking out this lady who set up last week and she had TONS of fish oil stuff, vitamins, etc. No one looked at it at all. The only thing she sold was lysol wipes (while I was checking out her table- haha) and purell. (purell was the walgreens deal- as I sold out all mine the week before). Household stuff sells very well- cleaners, etc. It would be a good idea before you set up to check out the pricing of other vendors. I try to also bring out "garage sale"stuff too. My kids' clothes, etc. Even if you are a quarter cheaper it does make a difference. I've built up such a huge customer base that I have my usuals that come every week to see what I got new. A lot of pressure on me to find the deals, but this is our income as my husband's hours were cut dramatically. Its a job now for me. Good luck. I wish you the best. |
