| Just started stockpiling...
When I got married last month, part of my punch recipe had to be frozen, so my mother bought 15 shoebox sized plastic containers. I figured out that for my VERY small stockpile, these are perfect starter containers! Here's what is in my stockpile. (Some of you who have been stockpiling for awhile may laugh at me, but I'm excited!!!) Box 1: Toothpaste. 1 Tube Aquafresh. The regular price was $2.49 but I got it for $1.00 Box 2: Razors 4 Bic Soleil Razors (hubby shaves his head with these a lot). Only paid like $1.15 for this, PLUS there was a $1.00 coupon inside! 5 Venus Spa Breeze disposable razors (I *love* these!). Box 3: Lotion 1 bottle Johnson's baby lotion Box 4: Deodorant 1 bar Olay 1 bar Dove 1 bar Sure 1 travel size bar degree (FREE!) Box 5: Body Wash 2 bottles Axe And then, each month I pack my husband a care package (he's in the Marine Corps. Right now he is halfway across the country for me, but in Oct he deploys to Afghanistan, so... I'm getting used to packing CPs) Anyway, I kind of have part of my "stockpile" that I bought in the boxes... so.... Care Package 1 (August) 2 rolls Charmin TP 3 Bic Soleil Razors 1 bottle Axe body wash 1 Aftershave Lotion (great following a head shave) 1 Post-Shave Gel (great following a face shave) 1 Shave gel 1 box granola bars 1 bar deodorant It's about half full, so I still need to toss in a few more items as I get them... Care Package 2 (September) Basically the same, except I didn't add aftershave lotion or post-shave gel, but I did add a larger post shave something-or-other. ...so you guys see where most of my stockpile goes. LOL!!! |

You're off to a great start! Hygiene care packages and snacks that can be put in a ruck will be great additions to your care packages when he deploys! Try to get travel sizes to send him, you can get most of those for free!!

Also I was thinking ahead to Thanksgiving since he'll be deployed then... I figured I'd send him a "Thanksgiving... sort of." box with: Turkey Jerky (turkey) Grape G2 mix (cranberry sauce) Pringles (mashed potatoes) Cheese and/or PB crackers (rolls) Pumpkin Flavoured or Shaped snack cakes (pie) A package of Pecans or mixed nuts (pie) and some other goodies. It'll be the second time he's missing out on Thanksgiving dinner, and I want to make sure he feels as close to home as possible... plus, I think he'll laugh at the stuff I included |

I am brand new to all of this so kudos to you! I haven't started a stockpile yet. But I plan on it. Just started printing and clipping. Good luck to you and to your husband. Our prayers are with him as he goes over seas. Tell him Thank You for his service.

I had been avoiding telling my husband about stockpiling because I was afraid he'd think "Oh my gosh, where are we going to store all this crap?!" But last night he texted me saying that we need to start stocking up on things like hygiene products, canned goods, etc, so I went ahead and told him I already am. Lol. He also wants me to stockpile first aid goods, and he's planning on buying MREs on closeout sales (apparently occasionally they sell them off to members of the military at low, low prices?). He also wants to buy glow tabs, and other goods that are military-only, so that could make for an interesting stockpile....
