I have to admit it's never given me a false sense of security, but that may be because I have learned over the years to not count on anything. ha! I run out of nothing usually. Not because I have such a huge & extensive stockpile, but because I still make out grocery lists and check my pantry (and stockpile) the same way I always did before I began stockpiling. I can certainly understand how it could happen though. I will admit that once I came home without pop tarts because I noticed 2 boxes of them sitting on the table. My son asked why I didn't get any pop tarts because we were out and I pointed to the two boxes on the table. He was like "Those are empty" Me: "why are they sitting on the table then?" Him: "because you save stuff from all the packages"! *rofl* (upc, POPs, etc). At least he's been paying attention!

I don't call myself a stockpiler, but DS just took 6 bags of 'groceries' from my pantry, without taking my last anything! I buy 2 papers [one for training/trading] and just work with the deals each week; primarily WalMart, Kroger, CVS and Walgreens. I have to go farther to Target [no SuperTarget around], so only go about 1/month, but bit-by-bit, it is adding up. I am even finding Qs for meat, milk and other things that I thought I could never find...with the help of AFC I keep a running list of stuff we are low/out of, and other than those items, I buy the specials, with Qs if possible I am tracking at 50% savings overall, which is my goal..it is working! when a Q comes in the mail, I tell my kids - somebody sent me $1, cause that is the effect when I get to the store...this adds up to REAL money! for those with a goal to stockpile, especially for resale, a lot more effort is required...that's too much for me; I offer my stash to my visiting 'grown' sons, so that keeps it moving; also take 'groceries' to the grandbaby make the Qs work for you...whatever your goals are...
