I don't have a basement either. We have just built shelves where we can and used extra closet space. Check out my stockpile pics

Just look for any space that could be used or shelving added too. Depending on what you are storing, if you want it climate controlled, etc. There are some great ideas floating around this site.

I know what you mean about no basement and no storage room. I cleaned out a cabnet above my washer and dryer and made room in there. I have a shelf in my craft room that if needbe I can clean off (not sure where i'd put my scrap items but i can find a place im sure) to use as well. I have 4 cabnets in my entire kitchen! One is for plates, cups and bowls. One is for pans. The other two are for food so not much room. I store it ontop of the fridge (cereal mainly). I also take some things out of the boxes to make more room in the cabinets. Your HBA items you could store in storage totes and stack them in closets. You could also do this with cleaning items as well.

I guess I better start going through some closets and fill them with good stuff instead of junk I don't need. Thanks to everyone who replied it really has helped. |

I don't have much room, so most of my stuff is in totes stacked in the laundry room. Hoping to get shelves built.

I like to use the plastic under the bed storage totes. They hold quite a bit and I have 3 under the bed. Also, it's hidden so family/friends don't think I'm a lunatic for having all this stuff!!!!!!!!

I have a medium size pantry and I also use the hall closet for bathroom surplus plus 2 shelves in the laundry closet.

You can store your stockpile in totes under your beds. Also if you need more storage look up thats advice I have read.

linen closet.. spare bedroom closet. I bought this three bin storage unit at CVS at 75% off a while ago, but now that is full. I need to cut back, there is no more space!

| my surplus is pretty small I guess
I too have no basement plus no attic, no garage, and very small closets. So, my suggestion would be to keep bathroom/cleaner stock in laundry and bath rooms, personal care/OTC meds in bedroom, food/bev stuff in kitchen/pantry area. When I had lots of extra cat litter- I kept it in the trunk of my car. I have to get organized though and get rid of stuff I don't need or will never use. We have a "junk room" currently---but if organized and stuff given to Goodwill- I could easily fit a shelving system on one wall...

Fortunately, my house has a lot of shelves, thanks to the previous owner. I also use shelves we purchased at Home Depot. They hold quite a lot!

My house has no basement, no useable attic, no garage. We DO however have two storage sheds (one in the backyard and one in the front, they are connected to the house), Two upstairs closets-one with shelves one needing them, and my daughter's closet. I only have enough stockpile to fill one closet (and it's not even all stockpile) but now that we have a CVS and getting a SW I'll be going CRAZY!!!

I do not have a basement or an attic either, we have a garage but it is not attatched to the house and hubby refuses to let me store anything out there that could succumb to the weather, this includes toothpaste or shampoo because he says it might freeze (not sure if this is true) no paper products because it may get damp, no food products in case of animals... end of the story everything stays inside. It has become quite a challenge. Hubby is worse than I am too. He insist on stockpiling! Sometimes you just can't pass up on those deals. Once you bring them home you will find the space! Linen closets, bedroom closets, under sinks, bookshelves. Anything will do

I put toys and stuff like that in the closet in our spare bedroom, canned/jar type items outside on shelves, flour - rice - HH etc inside our kitchen pantry and health/beauty items in a shelving unit (with doors on it) in our walk in closet.

Under the couch! You can lay down cans and bottles, and keep them in box "lids" like you would get at Costco or Sams, and slide under the couch. Or, cut down those 12 pk soda pop boxes. The kids are grown now, but back in the day, they never thought to look under the couch for a can pf "pop." |

Thanks for the ideas! I have plenty of storage areas since we are moving to a bigger house, but I never thought about adding a few more shelves to the guest room closet! That is perfect and I will keep them high enough so I can slide the rubbermaid drawers on wheels in there for toothbrushes, floss and things like that! I did already decide to add an extra shelf to my laundry room for extra storage. |

I have no basement, attic, or garage... but i have a HUGE linen closet in my hall that's badly organized and full of unnecessary stuff. And it just occurred to me that MY bedroom walk-in closet also has a lot of wasted space. If I can declutter, I can build a serious stockpile!

| I'm considering doing that as well, especially since some items do need more temperature control than others. I use some plastic shoe boxes in the basement on the shelves and have labeled them appropriately and I love how organized it looks! Gotta get more containers, LOL!

I had a huge yard sale and cleared out a lot of stuff, and now I have a 3 door cabinet above my washer full, all my cabinets in my kitchen are full, and my closet I emptied for the yard sale is full. Yesterday I was trying to figure out where to put 30 rolls of bounty paper towels and I looked up in my kitchen and above my cabinets is about a foot of storage area before my ceiling, so now I have paper towels and barbque sauce above my cabinets. |
