Stockpile/Trailer

I have a trailer that is a single wide that is next to my house no one lives in and at the moment we don't have the electricity to but I thought I could use it for my stockpile. I know that it is secured from rats because I have my darling cat living under the trailer (wiggles). Would this be a good idea? Does anyone have any other suggestions. The house I live in now is not got the space for this. I hope to in the near future to be able to use hall linen closet for a small space for stocking. I was also wondering if I could use my attic for paper products and what other things could I use this space for. I know I couldnt use it for food items. I do not have a basement. My laundry area is outside under my carport which is a pain in the neck. It needs to be cleaned out and re organized plan on that this summer. Still will not be heated or cooled and has a gas water heater very large in one corner along with washing machine, dryer and a water tank so there is not much more space that I can use. The trailer has been vacant for over a year so I thought since we are leaving it vacant in case my parents might have to move back one day I might use it for something.

I think that would be an ok idea but there are a couple of things to think of:

Would you be able to store your items in a cool dry enviroment? Extreme heat and cold can make your items expire faster.

I'm not sure about Georgia winters, but here in MN it gets cold, so I know our stuff would freeze in the winter. Does it get hot and humid in Georgia. Himidity wouldn't be a good thing paper products could be effected.

You may have a cat to keep away mice, and rats, but there are other pest that can get into a house. You might want to think about spraying with a ortho max or other pest replent. I use ortho max in my basement to keep away the grand daddy long legs.

Are there any leaks in the roof?

Is the trailer easly accessable to you, can you keep an eye on it. Do you have to worry about someone stealing from you?

I think that would be a great idea to store your stockpile.

We had it treated when my dm lived there by a pest and bug company and I do spray it regular for bugs and for pest, wiggles just hides there because we have another cat over here at our house and decided to go over there and hang out comes over here to eat. She got spoiled by my dm when they lived there. It does get hot the hottest is in the 90's it does not leak. I have neighbors and we have a great pyr that guards our yards and several neighbors that stay home during the day one keeps children all the time right there next to it. If I decide to use it I might even check on turning on the electricity to keep the temperature even.
