Hello everyone. I am just curious to see how everyone got started with their stockpiling. I have accumulated a little mini stock pile (my very first) over the weekend...free make up...20 cent paper towels...60 cent dish soap...lots of shampoo...razors...anyway...its now sitting on a shelf between my living room and kitchen in plain sight. I need to stick it somewhere; however, not so sure how to begin to organize it. Did you start off small and gradually increase your storage area or did you immediately decide that you wanted a large area to hold your stockpile? Just curious to see how everyone else began :-) Would love to hear your thoughts on this. Hope you all have a great weekend!

I immediately set up a big shelf in my second bathroom (actually in my bath tub that we do not use). My very first week on AFC everyone was posting about the free Garnier products so I started with a bang. My first weekend with coupons in hand I had over 30 free bottles of Garnier products, 24 free rolls of paper towel, 30 free rolls of toilet paper, and 16 almost free packs of feminine products. So needless to say I had to have some place to put it all. It has now been about 6 weeks since I started on AFC and couponing and my first shelving unit is full and I have put another one in my kitchen for food and it is full. I think I am going to have to spend some of my savings on more shelves. Good luck and welcome to the addicting world of AFC! Nicole |

WOW! Good for you. And I thought I did great by my CVS and Walgreens deals. hahaha I wish my stop and shop would put out some triple coupons soon. they used to do it once a month but I havent seen any in a really long time. I would love to see photos of your stock pile some day! Sounds pretty impressive. I am thinking of putting some shelving units in my basement. For the non-food items anyway. I loved the over the door shoe bag idea that someone on here had their razors in! Very creative. Thanks for welcoming me to AFC...Im ALREADY addicted! :-)

I have a larger older home so it was easy for me to find lots of room for this stuff. I started out with a bang (from another site) paying way more for things. Since I have been here most is free or close enough to free. Now I only pick up what is needed or free. Cherry picking. You did very well. If I would have started here it would have been so much better. You will love all the deals. Pick a closet or some place that you can start storing items. If you have a spare bedroom or bathroom, nice pantry, even under your bed. All but one room in my house has stockpile now. Grand daughters room (when she come here, I like for her to have her own space) does not have any stockpile in it. Trying to keep it that way.

Here is the link to the post that I put on here. I took a picture after one month and I am going to do it again at 6 months. At this time I did not have the food items so this is just the other stuff. http://www.afullcup.com/forums/stock...one-month.html Hope you can view it. Nicole |

I got my start when FLYLady, a website about home organization, helped me realize that I was misusing my linen closet. Her inspirational idea-why have more than 2 sets of sheets, one for the bed and one spare? After all, you wash sheets before company comes anyway. I cleaned out my linen closet and use it as Pantry II. I keep my crockpot, canned goods, extra paper towels, tissue, laundry soap, etc. |

I'm still new to the concept of stockpiling, though I have been wanting to build a good size food pantry (we plan on can our own foods starting this year), and so when I started looking into couponing and all that goes along with it and learned about stockpiling, the two seem to definitely go hand in hand.. I would LOVE to have a large area to store things, but with a family of 6, and limited space, its gonna take getting creative to do that LOL Right now we are only living in half of our house, due to a renovation, plan to start work on our new kitchen after next years income taxes, so we have started drawing out floor plans and have LOTS of cupboard and shelf space in the kitchen, with some storage space in what is going to be our laundry room as well, and then some good shelf space in the bathroom (which will be going in shortly if I can get hubby motivated LOL) Over time we may be able to utilize some of our basement space, but since its an unfinished dirt basement (primarily) we will have to be careful about what we store down there. BUT, we are off to a fairly decent start, our cupboards are full and overflowing after just a month of using coupons/rebates/etc. and we still managed to spend about $200-$300 less than the month before that when we filled the cupboards less LOL!

I was working and a customer told me about this site. My dh wanted to retire at 55. It put me in a panic. I was looking at all the stockpile pics. Someone on the site told me to start with toothpast to see how many I can get free or nearly free. I only stock and buy what we use. I started and still buy extra to stock. It builds up fast. Dh didn't care for it sitting everywhere. I saw and read some threads on how people hid there stock. I started being more creative. Looking up down and under to put mine. I really wish I could remember everyones names. I want to thank everyone who posted a pic.,or gave suggestions on how to..

I'm so lost! I have no space for stockpiling and my husband would hate all the clutter if I just shoved it somewhere! I dont know how you all do it, I'm so jealous!

I started by shampoos and other health realted stuff, shave gels, razors and had them in the bathroom. OUr bathroom closet had just one shelf and lots of room for other shelves (it was more like a coat closet for bathrobes) so I had hubby put in shelves. I have my stockpile of paper towels and tp on the floor and on the shelves my shampoo, toothpastes, shave stuff, etc. In the kitchen we just have a couple extra cupboards for our stockpile which is mostly stuff like side dishes and condiments. we have a freezer downstairs for our frozen extras and I figure if I run out of room I will get some storage totes and put stuff in them.
