Bottled Water Stockpile Prices

My church is planning for their Vacation Bible School. We usually have about 80-100 kids and this year they are planning on incorporating an outdoor soccer clinic. They are hoping to have tons of bottled water for the kids. I don't usually buy water, so I am hoping somone can help me with stock up prices. Do you usually buy your bottled water at grocery stores or pharmacies like Walgreens or CVS? What should I expect to pay? VBS isn't until August, so I have some time to wait for great prices. TIA!

hello

1.99 for 24 pks was the lowest I've been able to purchase bottled water. This was back in April @ The Nugget grocery store. Other than that I usually buy 5 cases of 24 pk @ WAGS for 2.99. HTH

I think 1.99 is a good stock up price. We have to pay CRV on it as well so it's way more for us. I thought I saw some Arrowhead peelies at Safeway for $2 off 2 24 packs and they recently had them on sale for $2.88. Just to keep a look out =)

The cheapest I've ever seen a 24 pack is about $2.99-ish...

Not exactly a stockpile, but I suppose you could make multiple trips.

I hear that this coming week 24-30 OCT Pure drinking water bottled 24 pk. will be on sale for $1.99 but the limit is 2. You need to use an in ad coupon.

Here is an idea since you have a bit of time...why don't you have the people from your church start saving their water bottles with lids, throw em in the dishwasher...and fill them with tap water :-)...Recycling is always Free

I almost always refill our bottles. Only issue is I refill the gallon size ones at Walmart for 37 cents and then refill the bottles. We have well water so ick on the tap for me ....

If you have a Rite Aid near you, their 24 packs of bottled water are only 2.39 if you have already reached the 20% reward mark.

Arrowhead still has IP Q's on coupons.com & allyoumagazine.com.
I have consistantly been using these & Albie's Doublers to get $0.19 6-packs for my Long-Term-Stockpiling for emergencies.
Good case price for any bottled water would be less than $3, great case price would be less than $2 to answer your question.

My other thought was buy Gallon water, split it between 3-4 kids, & have them bring their own plastic glass from home, or provide them from a sale.

Or, bring their own thermos, like we did as kids to events. Does anyone remember the days before bottled water, ?

I like nowpoints idea. To take it a step further, you can probably get cheap reusable bottles from oriental trading company or something. First day of camp, have an activity where the kids can decorate their bottle with paint, then refill throughout the week from multigallon jugs, which can be purchased for less than a dollar each.

I think the reusable personalized bottled idea is cute, you'd need to clean them first though I would think.

But reusing and refilling regular plastic bottles that someone else has been drinking from? That's not a good idea. Even washing them, those type of bottles aren't meant to be sterilized. And the dishwasher breaks down the plastic, those types of bottles aren't meant to be reusable. If I found that my child had been given a previously used bottle I would be livid. (Obviously a family refilling its own gallon bottles is different; you don't drink directly from those.)

Another thought... and I do realize this is an old thread but maybe someone else will have the same question for this summer's activities... what about getting a big water dispenser with those little cone cups, like they have in some offices? Might be really inexpensive to get a big quantity of those, something to check into anyway.

I love the idea about the reusable bottles for each kid, then you can get the big 5 gallon jugs that you can refil for around 1.00 or 2.00. since its for a chruch, you might even be able to have a local grocery store donate water refils for you i know dollar stores sell bottles for 1.00 or oriental trading is a good option too. then you won't have a ton of bottles to pick up and having laying around.

here are some from the dollar tree, they have the sports spout, we have these and love them.

Check with walmart and target about donating some bottles. I have done this for PTO school events. CVS had bottled water for $1.99 a few weeks ago and I thought I saw it in an upcoming ad for $2.22. I think those are both great prices for water.
