How do you keep track of all the expiration dates on your stockpile of food? I just found a bunch of my Kraft dressing that has passed expiration...

I am VERY new to stockpiling, so my stuff is all in date (so far)! BUT, my sweet, sweet husband put in shelves for me and I put things on them in order of expiration date!! That's NOT to say in a few months I WON'T find expired Kraft dressings and others, but I am *trying* to keep a close watch on what I do have!! (Again, my stockpile isn't all that big--for some of these people with HUGE stockpiles, it must feel like they need an employee just to check dates periodically )

when I buy canned/bottled food items, I check exp dates and get those that expire a year after I bought them. If they are nearly expiring, I just buy 1 or 2 that I can use immediately.

I follow the FIFO rule ~ first in, first out.

I make sure I place the ones with later exp dates at the back or upper shelves or DH and the kids just grab whatever they see
