I, like MPayne, have decided to quit smoking. I stopped smoking 3 days ago and I've already gain 2 pounds. I wish I could do it all and stop smoking while losing weight, but that's never going to happen. I will have to drop out. I hope to be able to join the next round. I hope you all understand!

Congratulations!!! Every day is an accomplishment, especially cold turkey. DH and I quit cold turkey 8 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did (after smoking for 11 years). If it's the right time, you will know it GOOD LUCK!!!

I have a little good news on that front - after gaining 8 lbs the first 3 weeks I stopped smoking, I've now lost 6 of it (from being sick, but I'll take it!).

Thanks for the support. I weighed myself tis morning and I'm back down to the weight I was before quitting. Not losing, but I'll take not gaining. Especially since I can't stop eating jelly beans!

Oh I have been chewing tons of gum! My jaw hurts! BTW - That new Stride gum is awesome. The ads are right, it takes forever for it to lose flavor.

Good Job! Stick with it, I quit 11-22-04.

I started a garden in my back yard. Because I never smoked in the house I had a habit of going out to the backyard to smoke (to often). So I got in the habit of going outside every half hour or hour and picking at my garden, poor weeds never had a chance hehe. Worked out great for me I had never gardened before and now each year we have the tastiest tomatoes, peppers, ect.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't smoke in the house either and one of the biggest things I miss is taking a time out and stepping outside. The garden would allow me to do that. Is it safe to plant yet? I'm in GA.

Hmm not sure about GA, I just planted last weekend here in socal, really looking forward to watching it grow

I did half store bought that are 4 inches already and half seeds.
