| The Paleo Diet
Do any of yous guys follow it? I stumbled upon a forum about it (cavemanpower.com...hehe) and started reading. Now, don't get me wrong I've heard about it before (as well as the "medieval" diet) but never gave it much thought. It was so interesting I downloaded a book named The Paleo Diet to my nook, and I've been reading it ever since. I haven't finished the book yet, but it looks interesting and I may give it a try after I've read about other's reactions to being on the diet and how it worked out for them.

I don't follow it but some of the marathoners I know swear by it. I figure if they can follow it and still have the stamina and strength to train for a marathon it cannot be too bad. Still, you're thinking smart by doing some research first. My diet is really just a lifestyle not a plan, per se. Lots of fruits and veggies, nuts and soy. Every once in a while I throw in some lean meat. I just found out I can't have gluten, so I am trying to figure that out. |

I've heard of it before. Never really tried it though. I'm all about the fat smash diet.

Just to update -- I started this way of eating. Little to no carbs (from grains of any kind) and little dairy, with the bulk of my calories coming from lean meats, veggies, fruits, nuts, etc. Basically a high fat high protein diet. I've even eaten a few burgers from fast food places -- just omitted fries, onion rings, etc and even sometimes without half a bun or both. I've lost 6 pounds in about one week. Granted it may be water weight...But still, the stats don't lie. It works and I have more energy. The only other thing I've changed is walking on our treadmill 30 minutes and I haven't even done that a lot. It also cuts down on my grocery bill

all the people i know who do this diet love it, the only thing is changing what you eat and if you have a family that can make it hard.

Kinda wrecked the semi-paleo diet I was on while on vacation - just got back yesterday actually. Going to do a bit o researche and start it hard-core sometime in the next week. I want to be svelte for next years rocky horror convention...because I want to perform!
