I hope this is ok to post here. I know it's the AFC "Biggest Loser" thread, but is it ok to post any weight-related stuff here? If not, just move/delete. I have gained 20 lbs since I stopped smoking 6 months ago. Yay, I don't smoke anymore! Boo - I'm FAT AGAIN! ![]() 2 years ago, I was going to the gym 4-5 days a week for 1.5 hours each time, eating clean, and felt great. Now I can't remember the last good workout I had, I've been eating crap (sugar, bread) for months, and I feel like a big, fat lardbutt. So I've decided to get back to what worked for me. I loved watching Celebrity Fit Club, so I tried the eating plan that they use - Dr. Ian Smith's Fat Smash plan. Here are the basics: The nine-day first phase of the diet is a time when you eat primarily fruits and vegetables, to allow your body to cleanse itself of impurities and toxins. The focus on raw or lightly cooked (steamed or grilled) vegetables and fruits also allows your body to make use of the abundant vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that are present in these most natural of foods. During this phase, you establish the habit of eating four to five small meals daily at three-hour intervals. While the menu for meals is rather limited, there is no restriction on how much you eat -- though overeating is discouraged. A 20- to 25-minute walk after dinner (or some other light exercise) is recommended, or 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise five times per week.. Allowed Foods * all fruit * all vegetables except white potatoes and avocados * tofu * dried beans (e.g., chickpeas, lentils) * brown rice * oatmeal * limited skim or soy milk * herbs and spices - Yay! * low-fat yogurt (no more than 12 oz. daily) * up to 4 egg whites daily * herbal tea * unlimited water Phase II and more info here: Smash Diet - LoveToKnow Diet This is what I'm starting on Monday. I'd suggest making some fruit smoothies. Only need fruit, canned or fresh (recommended) and some ice. Taste excellent.

Im with ya.. I didnt and dont smoke but lost about 50 pounds in the last few months.. The last few weeks though i have been playing with the same 5 or 10 pounds and it is getting frusterating.. I have to do something about since I gave away all my bigger clothes and I refuse to buy new!!!

The exercise is no problem since I walk dogs for a living. ![]() I had oatmeal and peaches for my first meal. Yummy! I think Ill have some grapes and yogurt next

I HATE food restrictions...but I do have a membership to The Rush. I can take a friend for free as many times as I want! Maybe I would go if I had somebody to hang out with while I try not to pass out from over exertion! I used to go 2 x a day for 1.5 hours each time! I lost about 10 pounds in a month and I still was eating all the normal junk I love!

So today I ate: 6oz Yoplait fat-free for breakfast (late breakfast) 3 egg whites with sauteed peppers - yum! Peanuts at the pool (I know, they aren't on the list, but better than pizza or corndogs! -- of course, they were Planters, DD brought them )Another 6oz Yoplait fat-free yogurt 1 cup brown rice w/yellow squash, diced cucumbers, peppers, and 1tbsp of dressing (sounds gross, but it was really good!) -- note: the rest of the family had tacos, that I made! Now that's some willpower there, ladies. ![]() Went walking w/friend for 40 minutes - 2.16 miles I'm about to make a bowl of oatmeal for a snack. I make it plain with a little sugar-free DiVinci Caramel Syrup ![]() I know I didn't eat enough today. I was busy with DD and her BF, taking them to the pool and back... Will do better tomorrow. |

Today I ate: 4 Egg Whites 2 Cups Lettuce 1/2 Cucumber 2 Cups Zucchini/Squash 2 Bananas 2 Cups Carrots I can't believe I made it through the day. Wooohooo! Oh, and I did go for a 20 minute walk after dinner. |

I had 1 packet plain oatmeal w/ 1/2 cup canned peaches 1 packet plain oatmeal w/ 1/2 cup canned peaches 1 Cup brown rice w/ beans, watermellon and a small bit of Hamberger (I know I cheated) Today I have had the same oatmeal thing as above and plan on having Egg and Veggies for mid day.

Great job everyone! We should try and think of more recipies that go with this and share. I was adding cinnamon to the oatmeal to make it a bit more exciting! I even cooked the peaches in the oatmeal!

Ladies, I don't think we're eating enough. Let's try to bump it up to what Dr. Ian recommends EVERY DAY! Remember to eat every 3 hours, whether you are hungry or not. Otherwise, your body thinks it's starving and starts holding onto fat. We don't want that! ![]() I had yogurt for breakfast. Gonna have a big fruit salad for lunch. Brought 1 cup rice and diced veggies, as well. |

Oh, I have been eating more than every 3 hours. 8:00am - 4 Egg Whites 9:15am - Peach 11:00am - 1 Cup Carrots My Plan for the remainder of the day: 1:00pm - Salad (Lettuce, Cucumbers, Carrots and Red Wine Vinegar) 3:00pm - Peach 5:30pm - Rice, Peppers, Squash, Cucumbers (something similiar to what Mpayne made in an above post) |

Mine today... 11 - Oatmeal w/ Peaches 2- 3 Egg whites w/ sauted veggies (Onion and peppers) 5- 3 Egg whites, Rice and more sauted veggies ( Carrots, onion, aspearagus, green pepper) 8 - Oatmeal w/ peaches I got a late start to my day since I did not get home from an overnight until 11am.

I'm not eating enough (I was preaching to myself upthread). I am SO tired!! I have got to remember to eat every few hours... Detoxing off the sugar has been the hardest for me. I want some SO BAD. Can't remember if I posted yet what I've had today, but here goes: 6oz Yogurt for breakfast (fat-free) Diced veggies - cucumbers, squash, peppers tossed w/a little dressing. Large fruit cup w/strawberries, apples, mandarin oranges, grapes 6oz yogurt for afternoon snack Sliced apples on the way home from work. Brown rice and sauteed peppers for dinner. Will have my oatmeal in just a few. That's my "treat" every day already. I need to remember that I can have it at breakfast too! |

I had today: 4 Egg Whites 1 Banana 2 Peaches 1 Cup of Carrots Brown Rice w/Squash, Peppers, Green Beans, Cucumbers and Carrots I still have that headache from lack of sugar!!!!! It's killing me! There isn't alot to choose from for the first 9 days, it's gonna be hard soon to think of how to mix it up alittle. |

I just found this thread and it inspired me ![]() I won't be able to completely commit to this diet (I've already packed my lunch for today) but when possible, I can try to stick to the guidelines.
