| new to Tennessee
So I just moved to Oak Ridge, TN from Michigan. I need some advice on which newspapers are going to be the best for coupons. I went and got the Knoxville Sentinel this morning and there was only 1 insert. I think I remember someone telling me to get the Nashville one? However the gas station I went to today didn't have it. Depending on what some of you tell me maybe I'll go out and try to find it elsewhere. Looks like the very local stores I have to chose from in shopping are Kroger, Food City, Walmart SuperCenter, CVS, Kmart and I'm sure a few other hidden ones. I've never stepped foot into a Kroger and I'm kind of excited. I often hear great things. Well any advice on the Newspapers would be GREATLY appreciated!! |

Welcome to east Tennessee! Unfortunately, there isn't a huge selection of newspapers around here, though you might have better luck at a chain bookstore (Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc). The News Sentinel seems to have the most inserts, though I also buy a copy of my local paper (Daily Times) just in case. As far as Kroger, I couldn't live without mine, haha. Sign up for a Kroger Plus card ASAP--they occasionally send cardholders coupons in the mail, plus you can save money on gas at their gas stations! You can also register your Plus card with a coupon service on their website. This links manufacturer coupons directly to your card, and you can still use actual manufacturer coupons with them, so double the savings! Check out all of their coupon options here. HTH, and let me know if you need any other information. If I can't help, I'll try to find someone who can! |

Thanks for getting back to me. I've been able to make a couple visits to Kroger and I'm in LOVE! I can't wait to really get into it. I hate to admit it but I got out of "couponing" for the past few months, shortly before we moved and am easing back into it. It takes some time to build up my stockpile and whatnot. I'm getting there though. My husband says he's missing all the "goodys" hehe! Any more tips for any stores around here, let me know!! How are you about CVS? I had walgreens back in MI and always loved 'em. Thanks again! |
