I am wondering if they hava a CVS and what other stores that they have for shopping at? I will be there for the dog show and wanted to bring my stuff so I could do some shopping that I might not get to do elsewhere. Also, would like to find a cheap place to stay.

Wow, I wish I could help you out more, I live in ND but not Bismarck. I know Bismarck HAS a CVS but I'm not sure if it's in the mall or where it is.

Cheap place to stay...... we've had pretty good luck at the Days Inn using a coupon from the a visitors book we got at the visitors center. I think the rate was $49 plus they give you a made to order hot breakfast the next day.

That's all the advice I have but you'll only be 2 hours away from me! LOL

Is that the price with the coupon? I have a quote of $84.95 for a night there and cannot afford that!
Anyway I can get the coupon before I leave or where i would pick one up.
Any idea on stores that may double?

When we stayed at the Days Inn for that price, I had gotten the deal through priceline. As for stores that double...I would love to find one up here but it seems like any where you go they look at you like you are crazy if you have a coupon. They stare at it with this blank look, turn it over and over, upside down, hold it to the light and then they frisk you, rofl. Seriously, I live about two hours from Bismarck also...don't get your hopes up about finding much in the way of deals.

So where is the visitor center? Do you have to tell tehm about coupon in advance?

Well, I did some looking on google and found the URL for the Bismarck visitors center:

There is a link for "request a visitor guide" and when you click on it, all the pages of the visitor's guide show up. Unfortunately the rate has changed, according to the visitor guide: $69

Comfort Inn has some rooms available for about $76 (regular rate) Do you have any discounts such at AAA, Sam's club membership, Costco, over 50? over 60? You might be able to get a lower rate with any of those (I used to work for Choice Hotels making reservations)

Motel 6 has rooms for $62
Budget Inn has rooms for $55-60
Super 8 has rooms for $49

To get to the visitor's center (the address is: 1600 Burnt Boat Drive) you drive on Interstate 94 until exit 157, take a right off the exit (North) and go on Tyler Parkway about a block or two until you come to the intersection of Tyler Parkway and Burnt Boat Drive. The visitor center is on the northwest corner of that intersection. You can almost see the visitors center from the exit, it's pretty close.

I do have a Sam's Club membership and am a Trip rewards member, although that only earns points.

Those were the dates I was looking under (well, august 1st, checking out the 2nd. Prices might be different for the 2nd and 3rd) Actually the Sam's club discount was a pretty good discount, about 30% off. So if you call to make reservations, be sure to mention that. It's been almost a year since I've worked for Choice Hotels so there may be changes but since it's not quite been a year yet, I doubt there's been much changes in the discounts.

Also the rates I looked up were regular rates, not with the discount so with the discount, they should be better rates.

So I just call the hotel and tell them I have a Sam's membership?
Which hotel was this for? Sounds like a DEAL!
