Just curious if anyone else tips the kids who dry your car after you go through the drive through car wash? My DH always tips, and I tip only if I have cash on hand which is not likely most of the time but I feel bad if I do not tip. We only go once every 6 months or so because of cost but we always wondered if we're suppose to tip.

Well, I go to the carwash every 3 or 4 months. It depends really. Anyway, I do tip the "dryer guys" as my son calls them.....LOL! The carwash I go to only charges $6 for the one i get and sometimes i have a $2 off coupon. (good deal huh?) I usually tip them $2 or $3 depending on how nice they are. Sounds crazy maybe but there was this one time when i was at the carwash and let me tell you......I left a very unhappy camper!!!! The two fellas drying my car were talking to each other while both drying my windshield and EVERY OTHER WORD was the "F". Ugh........i didn't even roll my window down to get my next coupon and NO TIP. I did of course, call the manager who was very polite AND gave me 3 FREE carwashes!!!!

Since we moved to FL I have not been through an automatic car wash - 6 years! I just don't need to wash the car often, and the weather is always nice enough to do it on my driveway. My kids love to help.

When I lived in CT I used to go about 5 times a year, and yes, I always give a dollar to each dryer person, so long as they did a decent job (were they gentle and did they actually dry the car vs goofing off).

Yes, I always tip. And here it's never kids, it's adults who I assume have families to feed. I don't go that often anymore, though.

hmmm I've never had people dry my car ... there's always an automatic dryer at the end... so when I read the title of the thread I was thinking "tip who?" there's never anyone around.
