| Your Favorite Memory from the 1980s
In the late few months I've been getting info from my high school about our 25th reunion. Has it been that long??? It got me to thinking about my teenage years and I was thinking about some of my fondest memories from that time. One memory that I look back on is on Sat. nights sitting in the living room with my parents watching the Love Boat and Fantasy Island. LOL. (Okay so I was boring back then LOL). It got me wondering, what are other fond memories from the 1980s for all of you?

The 80's were my favorite years, but not because of high school memories. I got married in 1980, had my first child in 1983 and second in 1986. All of those young family memories that we love to look back on and "remember when."

And gosh, it's amazing how everyone I went to high school with looks so old while I still look fabulous!! BWaha ha!  I watched Love Boat and Fantasy Island too. But I went to college in the 80's too and I think most of my memories are tied more to that than high school. A lot goes on in college.  I remember that we lived in the country so we didn't have cable. And about 1983 was when we got cable, so now I could watch MTV. OMG!! Hoo hoo! MTV! Now I will know what to dress like! |

I remember when we first got HBO in the early 80's and I would watch it just to hear swears in the movies. I thought it was so cool that you could hear people swear on TV!!! LOL. Now they do it all the time. I remember when M-TV was about music. My cousinfrom PA would come and spend the summers with us in MA and we'd sit and watch M-tv for hours. When we weren't watching M-tv we'd play these 45 records over and over of Flock of Seaguls, Human League and Soft Cell.

I used to love going to the drive in theater with my friends on the weekend. We would put out blankets and sit outside the cars, we were a very humerous bunch and always had a blast. MTV yeah, that was so cool!

I have recently joined facebook & got in contact with alot of people who I went to highschool. I graduated in 1982. Sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday and other times it seems like a million lifetimes ago.

Big hair with the stand-up bangs sprayed into submission with Aqua Net, Duran Duran, Madonna when she was cute and not all weirded out, Members Only jackets, parachute pants...yeah, baby!!!

"Remember when I was young and so were you." - Alan Jackson Okay I was 6 in 1980 but I do remember these Love Boat Fantasy Island Friday Night Videos - anyone else remember those? Alice - I would watch this when I was home sick from school Bosom Buddies - loved the theme song Skateland on Sundays from 1-4 with my older sister and her friends fried Chicken dinners with mashed potatoes and corn on Sunday after church My pop walking me through Patterson Park and up Eastern Avenue to the Mother Goose store to buy me new patent leather shoes. Way too many more to mention. Thanks for this post it really brought back memories

Staring at the blank channel on the TV and waiting for it...and then it came on...MTV with the original moonwalking astronaut with an MTV flag...and the VJ's (video jockeys).

My favorite movies are from the eighties...Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day Off...I was very into Prince as well

i was a rocker girl back then  awesome hair with the aquanet jeans so tight had to have my sis pull them off,then i would help her had the bon jovi hair loved warrent,poison,bon jovi,cinderella oh i had a blast oh and ripped up shirts |

I was born in 1982, but I do have some found memories of late eighties and early nineties. I remember those little toys "popples" with some kind of funny bubble in the belly with stuff in it . I also remember the side pony tails and big bangs and the colored socks. and leg warmers .And wearing the long tshirts with the funky tshirt holder things on the side we would tie up our tie shirts with. |

Guess some of us are showing our age. I graduated from college in the early 80's, got married and bought our house in 1986, and had my oldest son in 1989. Ten very busy years for us. I watched the Love boat and Fantasy Island too Lisa-The plane boss, the plane...
