There's been a bit of buzz that stores have programmed their systems to prevent doubling of DND 5 coupons. I haven't tried one in a bit. Has anyone used one recently and noticed whether the system is not doubling? I know that in the past, my store had to key in something to prevent doubling, but most cashiers don't pay attention so they ring through and double. If the systems now prevent the auto doubling it would be good to know ahead of time, so we can plan accordingly.

In my 6 mos. or so of couponing, I have gotten used to figuring on the doubling of q's for Shoprite & Acme. Have gotten "spoiled". This would be a bummer if it is now so........ |

I did mean to specify that as well in my response; that it would be a bummer if the DND5 ones that state "do not double" were now programmed not to double. Crossing my fingers it isn't so...... |

The last time I used coupons that began with the number 5 and said "Do not double" was this past Friday and they all doubled. I hope and pray that this isn't happening! What I don't understand is why ARE the coupons stating Do not double in the first place? I wouldn't think that the coupon's manufacturer is affected by the store's doubling policy. Doesn't the store that's accepting these coupons absorb this cost? If anything, they both gain more by consumers more likely to purchase their product because of the store's doubling policy. I don't get it?!? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Oh no!!! Although the cashiers at my ShopRite do seem to pay close attention then press that button so they don't double. It's hit or miss with me, I hope it doesn't go automated though!

Well what ever the case would be, not doubling, programmed not to double would be a bad, bad thing! Couponing has gotten such a big buzz in the last year or so. (media i mean) With the economy I would not doubt that stores and manu. are trying to tighten up as well. That is just my thought. I think they make money no matter what the situation is. People are going to eat! What do you guys think??? |

I'm sorry but if a coupon says do not double, shouldn't we expect it won't double? I mean, great for those of you who have been able to get them to double, but I never experienced a dnd coupon actually doubling... I always use self check though so that may be why. I just thought they automatically don't double since they aren;t supposed to... naive me

Sorry, this is a bit long winded. I just want to be clear that I am not really complaining just trying to stay on top of whatever is happening for the best ease of handling deals!

| I'm going to guess that in the case of blinkies (most of which are DND 9s), the stores might not even want them placed in their stores if they are going to have to double them, KWIM? As for other coupons, yeah, it's annoying that the manu puts that on there.

Was just coming on to post that my SR got new registers; or something new. ;o) The screens are new & everything looks totally different. The girl said it was all new when I commented on it. I didn't use any q's that would double; so I don't know if anything has changed; just got me thinking cause of the new systems. |
