| Beware Changing Computer Systems at S/R
Had my worst ever shopping trip this morning. I forgot that they were upgrading the computer system last night at my ShopRite. Every person on the front end - cashiers, FE supervisor, and customer service reps - were in SUPER bad moods, probably from dealing with the ton of problems. None of my doubleable coupons doubled automatically. All had to be doubled manually and the special on-call front end supervisor (supposedly the travelling computer expert) came over and did them and wouldn't double the DND 5 coupons. Arghh. She nastily tried to tell me that that was the reason that they wouldn't double. Thankfully the cashier pointed out that it was only that one that she was holding that said DND, yet none of them doubled. Then my OYNO catalina for Juicy Juice didn't print so I had to go to customer service. Clearly they were having a bad day too. I asked if their cats were printing. They insisted (nastily) that they were. Then they nastily told me that the shelf tag for the OYNO cat MUST have been old one, but they generously would give the dollar to me <sarcasm>. I always get some kind of cat that prints out, so don't try to blow smoke up my butt and tell me the cat machine is working. Sorry for the long rant. I was so irritated by the time I walked out of there I could scream. And my ice cream was melted. And the receipts look nothing like yours noellebrow, so they still haven't gotten it right! Time to give my S/R some space. We're not breaking up, you see, just spending a little apart time. |

oh, no...I had a really bad trip on wednesday morning, but not that bad.... That really stinks that there are so many problems. There did not seem to be that many problems when they did our upgrade, but maybe I wasn't there immediately after. You can always come shop in my store....we'd be happy to have you!

I remember working retail when we had computer issues, but it was Never Never Never an excuse to be nasty to customers. So sorry that they treated you that way; I've shopped at Shop-Rite many times, and was surprised that the stores were franchised (not sure if all of them are, but the ones I went to always were). Anyway, the franchisee seemed to set the "level of care" the customers received. If the on-site franchisee considered nastiness to be "de rigueur," stores consistently exhibited hostile behavior to customers. I've had several bad experiences at several NJ stores. Hope that you get better treatment in the future |

I love my shoprite- all the cashiers know who i am and everything. I 'm sorry they were so nasty to you. You were frustrated by the computers just like they were- you would think they would cut you some slack.

This happened at mine about a month ago. They mostly have it together now, but the computers still throw them for a loop from time to time.

Thanks everybody! I think the reason why I was especially disappointed is that I love this ShopRite too. They don't always have the selection of stock like most of the others, but they are almost always super nice to me and my two banshees when we've shopped. I needed a couple last minute things today for DS's b-day party tomorrow so I stopped at Hannaford's to get them. Didn't need the S/R stress today, LOL! |
