I usually use the self check out at stores; quicker & I know there won't be any mistakes! ;o) Today I had to use a rain check, & while I know you can use a raincheck at the self check out, the cashier I saw by there wasn't one that is usually too cooperative, & I wanted to make sure she used the raincheck correctly (& didn't have alot of confidence in her), so while I was passing CS, I saw there wasn't any line & checked out there. I had numerous q's; for tuna pouches, Degree Deodorants, & I forget what else now; but I was busy hearing if the coupons beeped & took, & if they all doubled, & didn't see the prices the items rang up at. I had figured out my totals before going to the store (career as a bookkeeper & accountant habit ), as well as figuring out the overage (tuna pouches), & when the total came up, I felt it was higher than I had figured, & mentioned this to the gal.I thought perhaps a q didn't double but she checked & they did. Then I noticed the Tuna Pouches rang up $1.29 each instead of 10/$10. She put it in the system & saw they were supposed to be 10/$10., as well as that being what I told her the shelf price was. So she said I would get one free cause of the price error; so I went & got another one. She had a problem with correcting it, & apologized for keeping me there; but I told her it was fine & was not a problem; & that I understood; she said she would take off something additional because of my time & I thanked her. (Not sure yet what she took off, as I have been running all day & didn't get to look at my receipt yet.) But anyway! The whole point of my long drawnout post (sorry!) was to say to make sure your tuna pouches ring up correctly. It also taught me that I'm not sure I'll go to CS again unless I only have 1 or 2 items; (not that I had much more), because I couldn't see what the items rang up at. I'm glad I caught it. |

(Re: what you were saying: I had it at Acme once where detergent that was supposed to be on sale for $14.99 rang up at the regular price. That was a nice score to get it for free! In fact, mistakes used to rather often at Acme; I got a number of items for $3.99 free pretty often, I remember.) With this time at SR, it made me aware of how much I like using the self check out; again, I look at every price as I swipe it & it rings up. I think if my purchase was larger, I might not have realized something was off with the price. |

| Really! Well, that's lousy! When I noticed the price rang up wrong & told the woman, she first asked me if it was advertised 10/$10 in the circular/flyer; & I told her I didn't know; that it was maked 10/$10 on the shelf. She went into their computer/system & found it that way for 10/$10., so I guess cause of that, took my word for it, & didn't send someone to check the shelf price, as I know they normally would. She then told 2 people there about it, saying that it was in the computer as 10/$10 & was also 10/$10 on the shelf; & they should do something to change it, or they would have to continue to be giving it away for free. She was really nice about everything; as the other women were being stupid about it (her words, not mine). Anyway, sorry to hear that your store had them for $1.29. |
