I emailed Shoprite asking them for their coupon policy. This is what I got in response: Thank you for emailing ShopRite. We appreciate the opportunity to respond. As you may know the ShopRite stores are individually owned and operated. Please email us back with the area you will be moving to so we can assist you further with getting the coupons policies for the stores in your area. If we can be of any assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to let us know. Sincerely, Riva P. Customer Care Representative So I emailed back and gave them my potential zip code (I'm moving to Jersey soon). This is what I got back. The zip I gave them was 07040. So it might differ for you, but you never know. Thank you for providing us with your zipcode. The closest ShopRite to Maplewood, New Jersey is the ShopRite of Millburn. ShopRite stores in this area double manufacturer coupons up to and including 99 cents. Coupons over this amount are redeemed at face value. Internet coupons are reviewed for content by the staff at the store. Once they have been verified, they are redeemed at face value. The first time you shop in our stores, please stop by the Customer Service Desk and apply for the ShopRite Price Plus Card. The loyalty card usage is often linked to product promotions in our weekly circulars. The Price Plus Symbol is printed in the advertisements and these savings are considered to be a form of clipless coupon promotion. If we can be of any assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us at 1-800-746-7748. Sincerely, Cheryl A. Customer Care Specialist I thought this might be a help to someone!! :-) |

My store also doubles IP coupons. Some other things to know: Only 4 like coupons will double in an order-- if you have 5 of the same under $1 coupon in an order, the 5th will come off at face value. As for any coupons that don't double (over $1), you can use as many as you want in any order (provided you have items to cover each, of course). I have to say, my Shoprite is very good about coupons. They are very coupon friendly and the head cashier who needs to come turn the key to allow things never questions anything or gives anyone any trouble. I am lucky.

If you want, ask at the customer service desk for a copy of the coupon policy, or ask for the "main office" phone number to get a copy. As the CS rep explained, every store is different. Another thing to look for is coupons that make an item free. The chain I used to work for will only allow one "free" coupon of a type per transaction. |

I have a question that has been on my mind- can I use a manu coupon with one that prints from the register? They say manufacturers coupon also but those are only to be used at Shoprite. I did try this once and it worked but I had a ton of coupons so not sure if it just scanned or they manually entered it. Would this be store by store also? Thanks! |

This will not work unless the catalina (coupon that prints from machine next to cash register) doesn't say manufacturer's coupon. I've never received a "shoprite" coupon from the catalina though. Catalinas are the exact same as manufacturer's q's so it would be like trying to use two coupons on one item. I think that some cashiers will push all q's through just to get you out the door, for the most part though all of the cashiers I have had follow store policy and check q's that beep and won't just push them through. |

Little cavalier is right, the majority of catilinas are MFR coupons so they cannot be combined with another mfr coupon. Once in a while you may get a store catalina coupon though. I used to get some for $1 off of HABA items.

It's always good to ask! Most drug stores will let you use catalinas with manu q's because they print out at store coupons.

I haven't ever had any luck with my shoprite accepting internet coupons. Maybe you will have a better experience. However, I have had coupons doubled that say do not double.

From what I understand, typically if the barcode on the q starts with a 5 it will double, if it starts with a 9 it won't, just fyi .I've never had any issues with IP's, but I guess it's a ymmv situation. |

I've had a couple of my IPs questioned, but for the most part the ShopRites in my area accept them - especially if they're the Bricks-printed ones with the shading on them. They do have a binder with pictures of fraudulent ones that the cashiers keep under the register to check if they see something suspicious. At least they have that in my New Paltz ShopRite because they've pulled it out on some of mine (but put them through anyway when I pointed out they had my email address on them or some other unique identifier on them).

| It really depends on your store. But, mine around here will double a 75 cent coupon to $1.50. My store doubles coupons UP TO and including 99 cents.

NONE double a 75C into $1.50. So someone help me figure it out... how much do i need to drive to get a shoprite that doubles a 75c coupon ? |

I'm in Monmouth County, NJ as well; zip 07728; & they double a .75 to $1.50; have had that numerous times. But with the price of gas, I wouldn't suggest you drive that far! ;o)

I went ot shoprite in ny and the cashier as well as customer service wouldnt take any of the wacky mac pintable coupons she said they didnt have a bar code on the top eventhough there was one on the bottom and were legit printables. They also wouldnt take the bumble bee tuna printable (i had two coupons and bought 4 items), they only took one of the tuna coupons. I asked for explanation but they said 'we can only take one'.The bumble bee printable one was a $1 on any two cans.

I work at a ShopRite as a cashier. I'll tell you one thing: if you ever go to the Manasquan/Wall ShopRite in NJ, watch the screen your order's on. This store consistently fails secret shopper week after week. I've been a simple customer, and i was screwed out of a dollar or two of coupons.

I found that my Shoprite will only double 4 like coupons. So, if you have 5 of exactly the same q, only the first 4 will double - the fifth will just be at face value. I usually have no problem with IP coupons but they usually need to be checked by a someone other than the cashier. Recently they would not accept 2 IP coupons, they said because they did not have bar codes at the top. They had them at the bottom and I think they would have scanned but they would not take them. I printed both of them directly from the manufacturers site rather than coupons.com, bricks, etc. |
