I found that my Shoprite will only double 4 like coupons. So, if you have 5 of exactly the same q, only the first 4 will double - the fifth will just be at face value. I usually have no problem with IP coupons but they usually need to be checked by a someone other than the cashier. Recently they would not accept 2 IP coupons, they said because they did not have bar codes at the top. They had them at the bottom and I think they would have scanned but they would not take them. I printed both of them directly from the manufacturers site rather than coupons.com, bricks, etc. |

I was just here yesterday and u guys took them....she asked a girl (who I believe was an assistant manager) and I asked her when they stopped taking them and she said ewe never did...I told her I have used them and she said as long as they're not frees and are under $2 shed do it for me. She said every week is different...one week they'll take them, one week they won't. WHAT THE HECK!?

Does anyone shop at the Berlin, NJ or Sicklerville, NJ stores? I would like to know their coupon policies, I emailed Shoprite and they gave me the each store is different speech. Each time I have shopped at these locations they have only doubled my q up to $1, for example if I had a .75 Q they only doubled it 25 cents more to take a dollar off, does that make sense? TIA

Sorry, I'm in North Brunswick, NJ I think it's at least 1 hour away from you if not more. Mine doubles up to $0.99

Every ShopRite IS different when it comes to doubling coupons. You really do have to ask. For example, the ShopRite I work at doubles coupons for what they're worth. If it's 75 cents, it adds on an extra 75 cents. This only happens if the coupon is worth 99 cents or less, excluding "Free" coupons. So if you have, say, a 99 cent coupon, it will double and save you another 99 cents. but, again, it really does depend on the ShopRite |

Today I had the absolute WORST experience with checking out. I am aware that if I have more than 4 of the same coupon, only the first four will double (not a problem when its a B1G1 LOL) but I had the manager of Succasunna NJ SR tell me that there is allegedly a cap on using 4 TOTAL on items that are on sale and have the PricePlus logo? Has anyone heard this before. She slaps down the policy in front of me and I told her that it absolutely does not address the PP issue. I demanded my coupons back as I would gladly have voided the transaction and divided my order so I could do two transactions (because she basically admitted that if my hubby were right behind me or if I got back on line they would have accepted all the coupons) which she wouldn't do. I then wound up returning and repurchasing half my basket with a completely burned out toddler. Anyone have this issue before? Is there credence? I think that the policy is silent on this issue...or at the least ambiguous enough that it could be argued.

I've only ever experienced pricing limits on items that specifically state limit 4 or in special cases limit 1 or limit 2. As far as coupons, I have never been told I could not use xx coupons per transaction. As long as there is an item for each coupon there has never been a problem.

However, the way the manager of that store handled the situation is very... er, unprofessional. If I were that person, I would have just given them back to you. |

Doubling all depends on the owner of the stores. I know Berlin and Sicklerville only double up to $1. My store fully doubles all coupons valued up to .99 so my .75 coupons are worth $1.50. That's the policy the owner of my store put in place (and boy and I am happy about it!).

I was in my SR yesterday to get a few items I forgot to get earlier in the week. My purchase total before coupons came out to $8 and change. All the coupons I had were for $1 except one that was $0.35 and when the cashier scanned it, it didn't double. When I asked why, she told me that they don't double coupons if the total is less than $10. I've never heard or experienced that before. Anyone else know if this is a policy at their shoprite?

I've never heard that, but they are individually owned so maybe that's their rule? My store has the rules on each register. I would see if yours has the rules posted and if not ask customer service.

If that's a $0.35 coupon and it's a catalina coupon (one that prints out at the store), then they won't double; catalina coupons are NEVER meant to double. If it's a manufacturer's coupon, some of them won't double because there barcode used to scan it has been written as such so that it won't. And if that's not the case, then that particular ShopRite is out-right weird (and I would personally just save all my coupons for bigger shopping orders). |

I had an awesome experience with ShopRite the other day. So I got this raincheck for papertowels one day. I used it the next week. Not only did the raincheck reduce the price, but the paper towels were already on sale that week so more money was deducted. (I wound up paying $1.60 for a six-pack, 3.87 was the raincheck price minus the 2.25 or whatever!) I'm not sure if this will happen at all SRs (mine most likely because we switched to touch-screen systems a few months ago and kinks are still being worked out) or if it's just with some touch screen system kink. But hey, rainchecks are good for 60 days (if I recall correctly), so if you want to hold out... just saying. Though I would say that this will only work if the sale comes off with the Price Plus Card. Last edited by Nishin; 10-30-2009 at 06:15 PM. |

I thought i was the 'coupon guy' at my Shoprite but have heard from cashiers that there is a 'coupon guy' that comes in and loads up and pays little. I ran into him today getting myself some more garbage bags, nyquil, and tissues. I noticed he had 4 each on all the nyquils varieties. Limit 4 per variety I understand, but I was under the impression you could only use 4 duplicate coupons per order, but is it more than 4 if they are over 99 cents, thus not doubling. I guess the store gets the full coupon value so why wouldn't they accept them. I see an old post that you can use more than 4. Man, that would save me a lot of time, I feel like such a noob. Guess I better check with customer service. |

So the two times the 4 limit comes up: They will only double the first 4 of the same coupon (so if the same product has multiple coupon sources like Sunday supplement and Internet Printer coupon - use 4 of each!) AND some deal have a limit of 4. These are usually sales and the limit 4 will be displayed in the add and on the shelf tag. So - if you want to buy 10 items that aren't on special sale (so no limit 4 for the sale) and you're using 10 of the same coupon that is a dollar or more - no problem, use them! I don't believe Shoprite would have a problem with that! |

I hit a problem with qs for two totally different Lysol products. The qs happened to be for the same amount ($.75/1) so they had the same exact barcode, but the product/picture and even the expiration date were different. I bought 4 of one type of Lysol product (toilet bowl cleaner, I think) and 2 of the other product (kitchen cleaner, I think) and only 4 of the 6 coupons doubled. I had to go to customer service to get the doubled part of the coupon. Moral of the story is that, to the computers, it's all about the barcode. |

I'm in New Jersey also, and my Shoprites double .75 to $1.50. The one in Wharton, and the one in Dover are owned by the same people, I think, and they TAKE EXPIRED COUPONS UP TO SIX MONTHS OLD! I've even gone to the service desk to make sure that was their policy and it is. They are the only two I've found that take expired coupons. |
