I tried to use the IP $1.50/1 Kids Yoplait yougurt q tonight at SnSave. The yogurt is on red tag for 2.50. First the cashier said they could take off half of the coupon value ($.75). If they took off $1.50 it would exceed 1/2 of the value of the item. (Later, the manager said the cashier should have taken $1.25 off).

Called manager when I got home....
Manager said corporate policy on internet coupons has changed. They will no longer accept Internet coupons that will exceed half of the value of the item. They will no longer accept any "FREE" Internet coupons (i.e. the fragulent FREE Velvetta IP q) and no more "B1G1" Internet coupons. This does not apply to MANUFACTURE q's - those all still good.

The manager apoligized for the misunderstanding and would honor the q when I come up there next time.

I guess everyone is cracking down. I emailed Shop N Save for the new Internet Coupon policy. When I get the email, I will pass along.

Taken $1.25 off?? Why are they making it so difficult? Are they really going to sit there and have the cashiers figure out amounts like this? I doubt that is going to be a corporate policy. Who's going to have time to compare coupon amounts to prices, figure out an amount, and key in coupon amounts, especially when you're busy? They would be getting the full value of the q back plus 0.08, so I don't understand why they got all weird and wouldn't just take it at full value. Did the coupon beep?

A cashier wouldn't accept my $1.10/1 IP Progresso coupon a few weeks back when it was on sale for $1. Said it wasn't their policy to give overage. She didn't even scan it, but a thousand bucks says that if I took that same coupon back to the same store at a different time with a different cashier, it would have scanned with no problems. I have a hard time believing any cashier/manager when they say stuff like "new corporate policy," ect. It seems like they always throw the word "corporate" in so people don't complain too much at them (i.e. taking the responsibility off of them). They may indeed be changing their rules... Only time will tell.

Here is the email I received today...

I received your web page inquiry about internet coupons. The web page
messages do not go direct to the store, but come to me to respond.

Beginning the first part of December, 2008, Shop 'n Save began a new
internet coupon policy as follows:

1. Internet coupons will be redeemed for up to 50% of the product's
retail price.

2. Internet coupons will not be accepted for the entire retail price of
any item.

3. Internet coupons for free product will not be accepted.

4. Internet coupons that require a telephone call or confirmation

A few years back I tried to use internet coupon at a shop n save on lindbergh and they said they wouldn't take them any more so since then I haven't tried to use any. Now I save them for schnucks or walmart.

I tried to use an IP at the Maplewood (St. Louis) store last Thursday and the cashier said she had to call a supervisor for approval. The supervisor said they could not accept it because the IP was issued by Verifi Co. and they have had trouble getting reimbursed from them. I have used these same coupons at Schnuck's and Dierberg's with no problem, at least for now.

I was just at Shop n save and my coupon did not scan, it was directly from the website of the company it was with, the cashier said they can not take coupons if they do not scan on the bar code but I could take it to the service desk and possibly get the money for the coupons so I did and they gave it to me. Kind of stupid since they had to over ride the register and that same woman could have approved it at the register instead of making me walk to the service desk. I understand their point but it was very annoying.

Ugh Internet coupons at Shop 'n Save what a nightmare .. I had a bunch to use today at Shop 'n Save ...

It took FOREVER the cashier first told me she wanted me not to use them because she had to wait for the "book" to take them ... Ok what "Book" ????? Anyway I tell her No ... I want to use the Qs or I don't want the products I picked out ... She she sighes and flashes her light and ask for the book - We Wait - Everyone in line getting VERY fustrated now ...

Finally the Book comes ... she take each coupon and flips through EVERY page of the book matching it to the pictures and reading the information on each page... Took FOREVER

She says she is looking to make sure the Qs are not counterfit .. aparently they have a whole book of Counterfit Qs and they now have to match each one to it ... So I understand needing to make sure the Qs are not counterfit .. but really waiting 10 minutes for the 1 book in the store to come to this cashier ... then her sitting there with EVERY single coupon and matching it to every single page in the book ... I mean if counterfit page is for a Toothpaste Coupon and I've got a coupon for Bisquick .. Why do you need to look at that page in fine detail reading everything about the coupon .. clearly I'm not presenting the Toothpaste coupon ..

Sigh oh well .... I think I'll try my more "coupon friendly" shop 'n save next week .. A little longer drive but hopefully they will not be so slow w/the internet printables...

Are Internet printed manufactures coupons the same as Internet Coupons? That is, when I print out printable coupons online, some will say they are manufactures coupons.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with this problem at Shop n Save. I had the same problem last week. The checker was not going to let me use a $2.00 coupon for dog food. Dang, the dog food was $14.00!! She finally took it. She also said that they can't take over 10 internet coupons.

I went to shop n save yesterday, I never really go there. They had YOGO"S on sale and I had a IP 75 cents off. The yogos were sale priced at 2.00. The cashier told me that they dont take any internet coupons at all. Guess I wont be going back there.

I go to Shop & Save everyweek and I have never had an internet coupon refused or even second-glanced at. I guess all stores are different. As a matter of fact the cashiers are all excited when my totals go down so low. I guess I lucked out at my store.
