| Cocky Cashiers...
I went to Shaws this morning and came across a cocky CSM who "informed me" of the new rule about coupons. "you can only use any 6 like coupons at a time, and we can no longer do multiple transactions". A... I've never done more than 1 transaction unless it was at self checkout (this store has no SCO) B... Can you give me those rules in writing? (she couldn't) I asked if that means that on the poptart deal... I can't get 10 and use 10 coupons for $1 off? You have to buy 10 to get the rebate. "no.. we can't allow any 10 coupons to be used at once" I pointed to the coupon policy that's taped to the checkout and said.. "It says no more than 6 coupons doubled... it says nothing about not using more than six of any type". "it's a new rule". I told her I wouldn't be shopping at that store anymore.. I'll drive 20 miles to avoid it. She wasn't amused. I told her to take everything coupon related and take it off the bill... I'd go somewhere else. I bought my milk and potatoes and left. I swear these people make up rules as they go along.

Sorry you were treated that way. I've used 10 of the same coupons-Like the $1/1 tuna this week w/o any problem. We all know only 6 like coupons will double-Nothing new there. I think she's confusing the two rules. I had trouble at my CVS last year-I knew a new one was opening up in the fall so I cashed out my ECB's and waited for the new store to open. The new store is friendly and never hassles me about coupons. Hopefully the other shaws will treat you better. |

I've only had them do the limit of six coupons once. Their policy if I remember correctly says the "reserve the right" to limit you to six, but I have no idea what their reason for doing that would be.

Its a crying shame you were so upset by the cashier that you felt you had to leave. Should this happen to you again, in ANY store, please ask for a manager or speak to CS. While some stores DO reserve the right to limit Qs, its always best to question it with someone of real authority rather than a cashier with nebulous authority (Ive worked as both cashier & as mgt, I know) |

i've NEVER had an issue with qs at my shaws. they take 'em, scan 'em, and send me on my way. this week alone, i used 10 wacky mac qs on 2 different days and they doubled all of them. i guess i have a friendlier store than some so i feel lucky -- plus, most of them know me and know i don't argue, don't try to slip in something that shouldn't be there, and leave qs for other shoppers for deals i don't want. i'm sorry you had such a bad experience!! |

That is so rude! Im sorry you had problems last week...I swear they just keep getting meaner and meaner each month..I had a problem at mind last night with them after my transaction taking my recipt and all my coupons I was using and going through them one by one..This is the second time this month they had done this to me..so I when I sent an email to the manager I asked for a copy of the stores coupon policy so I can bring it with me trying to avoid being harrassed almost everytime I go in..I hope You have better luck at your other store..Im so sick of cashiers who dont know their own policy or are just plain rude...I hate even more when they make you feel like such a criminal..I was also told last night that I am only allowed one cat per order..so i ended up spending $50 vs 12 last night cause they limited me to one $5 cat...

They should not be limiting you to one cat per transaction. There are no limitations placed on the ones from this deal. In fact, I don't think they've ever placed that sort of restriction on any of the cat deals.

I was in my Shaws, Saturday and as usual went to my regular cashier. Poor woman was a little frazzled... First she rang everything up without starting to bag Said the cashiers have been told they have to scan a minimum of 20 items PER MINUTE Also they have to doublecheck every Q for an expiration date Evidently theyre getting hit with alot of counterfeit Qs that say "no expiration date" or something Its a shame, we used to chitchat while she rang up my order, now it seems we really can't At any rate, except for checking for expiry, there were no problems with my Qs, nor my multiple OYNO cats |

that is too bad people use counterfeit coupons...There are so many great deals to be had with real ones why they need to make their own I will never know...I just sent my hubby out the door a few minutes ago to do a few transactions tonight I can hope they will treat him nicely

I swear, they must have just shown all the cashiers some instructional video about fraudulent coupons recently or something because I noticed that a lot of the cashiers that I have seen in the last few days have been studying my coupons awfully closely...

I haven't been for a couple of days-Will see when I go today if I have any issues. Usually my store is fantastic. They all know me there and know my coupons are legit-Guess there's one advantage to your cashiers knowing you.

Every Shaws is different with a lot of their "rules". One of mine will take the S&S doublers and the other will not. I don't usually have a problem using all my coupons that I want, but I typically go to SCO so I can do it all myself. I always need intervention in the end, but I never seem to have a problem yet. They do open up the thing and some inspect my coupons more than others, but I'm not doing anything wrong. I'd LOVE them to say something to me!!! I would be all over corporates butt!!!! Anyway - if you feel that you were unfarely treated, then I would write to corporate about your experience. I hear them advertising on the radio that they are coupon friendly and want couponers - well, their employee just made you NOT buy anything and they just lost all the money that the coupons would have broght in to them to a competitor!! I'm sure they aren't going to like that. And I would have probably broken up my transactions. I'd be a real jerk and leave the store and come right back in or something. Everytime you walk in your a new customer!! Sorry - I just hate cocky, nasty people and don't think there is any reason for it.
