O.K. I went to Shaws tonight and I went in to do a quick transaction. I wanted to use the 4 Stop & Shop Doubler Dollar coupons that Shaws is accepting. In order to use these coupons you have to spend $15.00 after all discounts, coupons, etc. This is not always an easy task when you are using coupons and trying to get the most for your money but I think I got as close as possible to $15.

This is what I bought.

5 Frenchs Mustards on sale $1.39 less 5 .75 coupons doubled = -.55
8 Nabisco GO Paks on sale for 10/$10.00 less 2 3.00 coupons = $2.00
6 Vanity Fair Napkins on sale for $1.50 less 6 .50 coupons doubled = $3.00
2 Dixie 9" plates on sale for 2/$4.00 less 2 .35 coupons doubled = $2.60
1 Breaker Sour Cream on sale for $1.50 less 1 .55 coupn doubled = .40
2 Tropicana OJ w/free eggs on sale for $5.00 w/shaws coupon less
2 $1.00 OJ manufacturer coupons = $3.00
6 Domino's 16oz sugar on sale 10/$10 less 3 .50 coupons doubled = $3.00
2 Land-O-Lakes butter on sale for $1.88 less 2 .55 coupons doubled = $1.56

Total before S&S coupons was $15.02

Shaws gives you $1.00 off on each doubler coupon regardless of whether you actually have 4 $1.00 coupons to double. So doubler coupons were worth -$4.00

Total $11.02

How long are these S&S doublers going? They don't have a S&S up here but I will be in MA on Saturday so if they are still going I would like to try it!

If you want to make it simple - just do 7 kelloggs cereals!!! You can use the Dollar Doublers plus 2 of the save $3 off 3 cereals from the flyer - plus the $1/1 Kelloggs manufacturer coupons in the sunday insert. Not sure what your total will be, but you should still get the 3 milk cats as well - so this would probably be a great deal. I didn't do it because my shaws said they don't take the DD's from S&S and I have enough cereal for a while! You'd probably have to use the DD before any other coupons (you can do this at S&S so you should be able to do it at Shaws too). Just thought I'd share my thoughts - sorry if I hijacked your thread!!

They are just good this week (through Thursday). I don't know if all S&S are doing it this week. Last time RI had it for one week and then all the other S&S and Giants had it the following week. The flyers in the store may or may not have the doublers in them.

Less 1 $1.00 coupon - $1.00
Less 4 S&S DD $1.00 coupons - $4.00

$12.33 for 7 boxes of cereal (= $1.76 each) plus 3 gallons of free milk.

ymmv - but I've seen it reported on other sites that it's giving $5 off the cereal as well. the deal is that you buy 2 Kelloggs and the movie (maybe marley and me or something like that) and you'll get $5 off, but people aren't buying the movie and they are getting the $5 off. don't bank on it, but it could be an little extra to bring your total to $7.33 for 7 cereals and then get the 3 milk cats!

Is this a different coupon that is giving the $5.00 or is the $3.00 coupon giving $5.00 off?

My cashier was an idiot.

I went this morning.. did 2 transactions. They were suppose to be $20 each after the normal coupons. Then $16 after doublers. She had no clue what they were, so she called the manager over and he said.. "oh yeah those you're suppose to double the $1 coupons with those" and he walked away. So she shrugged and said "Oh I get it! I double these to $2!" I just smiled.

She gave me $8 off each order instead of $4.


BUT.... she forgot to give me my free milk coupons. I ran back in to watch her tear them up! She freaked when she saw me.. and the manager brought the little shards of paper to the service desk and methodically taped them back together. And I was 10 minutes late picking up my 3 year olds from preschool.

Remind me to pick up a couple of coffee's before bringing them to school in the morning.
