Ok so I'm still fairly new to shopping at Shaw's and had never heard about the gas rewards until a few weeks ago... we had gone grocery shopping and earned 30 cents/gallon off, but when we tried to use it at an Irvings at the pay at the pump, nothing happened? I checked the website and that Irvings IS listed as a participating store... I don't THINK my gas rewards had expired... but I could be wrong, I'll have to check the receipt to find out what date we went shopping...

But could someone explain to me exactly how you are supposed to do these transactions so I am better prepared next time? I have 20 cents off on my Shaw's card right now and will need gas this week.

you use your shaws card at the pump. you scan it so it knows how much you have off and then pump the gas. if you have an questions you can ask the person working at the irvings stations and they should be about to help you

I would have had hubby go in and ask but we were in a hurry... we were on our way to the nursing home to see my grandfather who was dying, and we werent sure we were going to get there in time to see him before he passed (He managed to hold on until the next evening though)... I'm just chalking it up to a loss this time and hoping it will work next time I try, hehe

At the station I go to you scan your debit/credit card and then it says to scan your rewards card if you have one. Then a little note scrolls across saying you have saved " blank" per gallon (usually only 10 or 20 cents since we pay so little out of pocket) and the number on the pump adjusts and it stops when I reach 20 gallons. They are only good for 2 weeks and it is harder (I think) to keep track of that now with the new system. Nothing to look at on my visor to tell me when it expires. Usually I get gas every Sunday after church so they don't expire unused.

I hope you can work it out...it is a great extra savings after we save so much at Shaw's already.

I think I overheard someone at Shaws saying if you have the card on your keychain you can use that too but have to go inside. Anyone know? I'm not sure if I still have the full size card because I never use it. Maybe I should get a new one.

Jess, you can just go to the Override.com site and sign up to get an Override card...then you link your shaw's rewards card (and/or Dunkin Donuts GC) to the override card. THen you don't have to go inside

I did manage to find my wallet size card but I still had to go inside at Cumberland farms. I don't think they were fully set up yet to do it at the pump.
