Two of the Shaws I shop at are issuing new Shaws cards. I asked why and they said it is for a promotion coming up that will only work with the new cards. Does anybody know what the promotion will be?

As far as I know it is because of the gas points. They used to print out a catalina but now you will swipe your card. I haven't heard about any other promotion it is needed for.

I think it has to do with the gas points. I had to get a new card too.

Didn't someone also say something about Dunkin Donuts being tied to our cards too? I'm not loving how they're doing the gas points now-I know this is more efficient, but on a couple of my transactions that should have had points, I didn't get them. Plus they're excluding a number of items.

We dont even have gas stations not sure why we had to get them. Funny on the adverstisment is said you should have a new crad that looks like this! but its just the same look as the old card, LOL Shaws is really cracking me up lately

I think there are still some people who have the older style card. I've had mine for a few years so they must have had them a while and just never had a reason to get a new one.

I just use my little keytag card...I don't even have a clue where my big card is anymore...probably hiding out with all the other big cards I don't use tucked away in a box somewhere...

I got a new one the other day from a lady that was walking around. She said it was due to the gas points. Asked if I had the new one and I didn't know, so I pulled mine out and although it looked almost identical to the new one - my old one said Shaws and then grocery store or something like that right under it and the new one does not say that! So, I swapped for a new one. She said that they were adding gas stations to the participating list and that should all happen within 2 months or so. I think that's great because maybe I can actually get MORE for my money at shaws (if that is possible)!!!

Does your old card say "Shaw's supermarkets"? The new ones only say "Shaw's" and as Jess said are for the gas. I was nervous because some people have said that the gas deal prints on the receipt, but mine did not. I hesitantly scanned at Irving and the price adjusted down by 10¢ per gallon on the pump, so you will know at the POS.

They made me get a new one today when I went in. I added the new card to my shaws account for the ducklings rewards. No idea if they will merge the info or not, but they did take down my old number. My store isn't linked to the gas deals, hopefully that will change now?

It is for when you use your gas rewards at the Irving station to make it easier to get the cents off per gallon

Cahsier yesterday said it might be tied to Shell or Getty or something which shocked me. hopefully since they are adding gas points they dont take away the catalinas!
