Anyone notice something different?
Does not makke a difference when you give your card anymore. Lat night my total was $127 before coupons and after 108.00 but my reciept states that only $102.00 qualified for the gas points.

Maybe certain things don't count? Did you just buy food or did you get anything else?

Food Only. But it also took the after coupon price not just after the Shaws card. Bummer!!

My receipt says something similar. My price before coupons was $136, after $93 and my receipt said "Eligible purchases were $106." Interesting.

Did anyone get a new card? I remember reading on the thread somewhere about having to get a new Shaws reward card. I haven't yet so wasn't sure if I should. I don't see anything about the gas rewards on the bottom of my receipts.

Yes, they are issuing new Shaws cards and the gas rewards go on the new card now instead of getting a printed coupon.

Did you use any store coupons? Maybe those don't count but mfg do?

My shaw's I go to (Scarborough) will only take my card in the beginning they won't do it at the end anymore. They tell me it is because it will crash their system if they use it at the end. I find that odd. I wonder if they got onto us experts LOL!

The two times I've coupon'd at that Scarborough Shaw's I was policed and tarred and feathered. Never again!

I've been to Shaws twice since the new gas promo started.From my receipts, it's based on pre-coupon. However, some items must be excluded because when I add my total before coupons, it's a few dollars off.

I checked Shaw's site and certain item are excluded from the gas rewards (photo processing, in-store pharmacy, alcohol, tobacco, milk,stamps, lottery tickets, money orders, gift cards or other item where applicable or prohibited by law) HTH

I doubt it will crash their system. Either someone doesn't know (so made an assumption) or else they're giving this excuse because they think shoppers will accept it. But whatever the reason, the bottom line is the new policy requires you to present your card at the beginning, so that's what you'll have to do.

IMO, the powers that be did in fact catch on to the tricks of the trade in couponing, so they changed their policy. BTW, Price Chopper requires that shoppers show their card first. That way, when there are BOGO sales, they can program the registers to accept only one manu coupon for the BOGO merchandise (can't use coupon on the free one). Also, coupons will be applied to the actual price paid for an item (rather than the shelf price before scanning card), therefore you won't get overage.

Yeah I've noticed that a lot of deals exclude milk. A lot of stores won't double coupons for milk, although they do double other dairy coupons. It might actually be a state or federal law...something to do with dairy compacts, I think?

My receipt say eligible purchases 75.27 and my OOP was 48.27.
So the eligible amount is less sale price & store coupons, but before Mfg coupons. (my orig total was 118.90)
