I'm new to this. Trying to catch up with you guys. I don't do half as well as any of you but maybe some day I will !!! I used to shop at the Shaws in Pawtucket RI but then they closed as did the one in Attleboro Ma. Now I go the newly remodeled Shaws in East Providence RI. Any one else go here ?

Hi! I'm nearby in Norwood and go to the Norwood Shaw's. Only recently did I discover that they double coupons and take competitors' coupons, as well. I am trying to help out the local food pantry by making a donation every week, and I find Shaw's has great specials that I can combine with my coupons. E-mail me if you'd like to chat. You're the closest person I've found so far.

Is this the one off Route 44? I've stopped by there a couple of times when travelling for business and had to jump onto the highway to CT. I think I found a couple of good clearance items there.

Recently got $11 in catalinas at Shaw's and Stop & Shop when I purchased a bunch of Swanson's canned chicken for the local food pantry. This was a very nice surprise -- and thanks to you, I know what to call them. Any idea how the term came into existence?

I also go to the Shaw's in East Providence. I love it and they have been coupon friendly so far :-)

I shop at Sharon, Canton and Norwood MA Shaws. Two of them take competitors dollar off coupons, doublers and tripplers. Do any of your stores do that?

Yes I have been able to use the dollar doublers in Warwick RI and I think I've used them in Cranston too. I have heard of other stores not accepting them though.

I thought this thread would also be a good place to list any store specific coupons we are ISO since other Shaws shoppers would be the most likely people to have these. Examples would be the Taste of Summer in New England coupon book, or the manufacturers coupons that are on the back of this weeks flyer.

I shop at the Shaws in Cranston RI (Chapel view) as well as the one in Warwick at the intersection of Rt 2 and 117. I have noticed the one in Warwick has more blinkies and tearpads so have been freqenting that one more often lately.

They should be able to give you a copy at the service desk.

Basically they will double up to 6 like coupons up to 99 cents, reserve the right to limit you to 6 like coupons, and do not accept IPs for FREE items. But they accept all other IPs.

They take competitors coupons but it seems to vary as to what they consider a competitor.

It seems that a lot of things are at the discretion of the manager - so it's worth asking at the courtesy desk. Last week a CSR at Stop and Shop told me I could use 2Q on BOGO there and I didn't even ask. (I think she was just excited because I told her how to download coupons online) Hope I'm using the acronyms right.

Silly me, I just noticed this thread. I've been around here for a little while. I mostly shop at the Shaws in Waterville, ME or sometimes Bangor, ME. I've only noticed a few other serious coupon shoppers at the Waterville store, guess there aren't many around me. Lucky me!!!

I can name three! My sister in Law, her neighbor and when I can get up there, myself. Waterville Shaws is my favorite, I went to high school in wtrvl and lived there until 3 yrs ago when I moved to Litchfield. I've NEVER been hassled in Wtrvl or Augusta Shaw's for using coupons. I am ALWAYs hassled in Lewiston and Auburn.

I use the Lewiston store only when I have to. I'll share my experience.

1. Don't go in the morning. The checkers are crabby old bats! Manager too. I've had them accuse me of stealing 'cause I was using coupons!

2. Try to pick a teen or teen boy's register. Teens think saving $ is cool, and they don't take it personally. Also they're better at scanning EVERY coupon.

3. Always count the scans. Many of the older checkers there I've caught not scanning all of my coupons.

4. Don't be afraid to hold up the line and call management if the old bitties get rude with you, trust me, they see me coming now and I get eye rolls!

5. It helps the checker if you sort your coupons in this order before getting to the register. They have to organize them this way so it helps speed the process if you say, "these are shaw's, these are manufacturer and these are all BOGO or free."

It's so funny. At the Shaws I go to in Canton MA it's the teenage boys that give me trouble. They don't know how to put in the competitors coupons and other stuff but the women that work during the day are great. They are always asking me how to get coupons online and marveling over my final total. But most of them are women in their 40's and 50's who are working to make ends meet and they are totally with me. Sue

Nice to hear from someone right in my area. I'm in Norwood. Usually go to the Norwood Shaws -- but sometimes hit the one in Canton. (We're right near the town line that seperates the two.)

I go to Norwood whenever I'm in the vicinity. The CVS there is pretty goodtoo a lot of times they have stuff that the others are out of. Today I'm going to be in Medfield and I'm going to check out that store All I'm getting this week is Kelloggs cereal. My stock pile is big enough now so that I'm trying to coast and only get free or ultra cheap stuff for a while. BTW does Norwood take competitors doublers?

Yes, Norwood takes competitors' doublers and triplers. The only problem I've had is that once, they would not take multiple BOGO Internet coupons for Kraft Easy Mac.

I use coupons for myself whenever I can; but mainly, I'm buying donations for the Norwood Food Pantry. They are such good folks there, and my husband and I are trying to take something every week. They say this is a time of year when they really need it.
