| Schnucks in jefferson City MO
Stopped in at my local Schnucks after work and was informed by the cashier that they have a new coupon policy-no more than 3 like coupons per customer per day. I will definitely be doing more price matching at Walmart.

Ours is like that in Columbia. I think they've always been like that though. I've gone when they are busy and hit two or three checkers and they don't catch me though .

When did they start this new rule? I was hoping to go do some shopping this Friday, but now I'm not looking so forward to it. Gerbes looks better every day! |

I was at the Jeff City store today. They also only double up to .50 cents now. They scrutinized every coupon!! Sent from my iPhone using AFullCup |

If people wouldn't cheated the system and the stores weren't losing money on coupons this wouldn't be happening. I find plenty of free or super cheap items without stealing, shelf-clearing, or being a jerk at the check out line. People on that stupid tv show are teaching others to cheat and ruining it for everyone. It makes me furious!

I am not sure what you are referring to, b/c I have always seen very well mannered and considerate couponers at Schnucks. But I have sensed a certiain resentment from several casheirs, I avoid them like the plague. Now, I just take Mama, hubby and anyone else who will come along, and we earch do our measly three coupons. . I'll miss the 75s doubling up to a dollar tho.

I shop at this store several times a week. My teenager even works there! On Saturday they act like they don't even know me. I am a huge couponer and general supporter of the store. I really was put off though by the attitude of the checker. They are just not friendly. I have a total of 9 coupons and I bought well over 100.00 worth of groceries. Schnucks is generally a bit cheaper than Gerbes, but they are so much nicer at Gerbes I don't get the rule of no doubling over .50? Irritating. Everybody wants to save money, but they act like couponing is some illegal shady activity. Sent from my iPhone using AFullCup |

It sounds like you are very honest couponers and I commend you...but believe me when I say that not everyone shares our moral compass. It may not sound like much when you actually use more than 4 coupons when the coupon states you can't...or when you use it on single roll TP rather than double when the coupon specifically states "double roll"...but it is stealing. The stores are not being reimbursed for these coupons from the manufacturers because their terms were not met. Hence, the stores are losing money. It's the same as if someone walked in and stole 100 rolls of TP right off the shelf. How can anybody blame them for wanting to change their policy?

Schnucks is still my favorite store to shop at here. So sorry you all are having so many troubles. Our management and cashiers are the best. It has always only been doubled to .50 here but I feel blessed. If you go further towards St Louis it is only up to .40. We have not been limited on our q's here unless the q states it. Otherwise it is a limit of 15 doubled per transaction. They do look at all q's carefully, but I like it that way. I feel guilty if I end up accidently using one incorrectly. Would never do it on purpose.

Bleh. Went to the Jeff City one for the first time today since they have the new coupon rules and it was just icky. No more .51+ doubles. I used to love going to Schnucks to grab the 20 oz soda deals but, guess Gerbes is my new favorite now. I go to the Washington, MO store every 2 weeks, so I guess they will get the business now since they still double the .51 cent coupons. The staff there are very nice, the cashiers are polite, and customer service was excellent when one of my coupons would not take last week. They listened to the issue, figured out what the problem was and then fixed it. I do agree with the cashiers comments for the Jeff City store...they do seem to have an attitude about them. I don't know what it is. Just cranky. I ask for a price check on an item every now and then and it is the sigh and a huff. I went to customer service today to see if they accepted expired coupons within a 7 day window and she gave me a look like I was an idiot and told me no, we have NEVER accepted expired coupons and we never will. I figured it was nice I asked instead of grabbing my 3 items and taking my chances on it and having to have the cashier void it off. I am fine with the fine tooth over my coupons, it takes a bit longer when they have to dig through the bags to make sure things are just right. Go Gerbes!! |

I shop Jeff City Schnucks as well as other stores in Jeff City. I was surprised with their new coupon policy when shopping the other day so got blind-sided when making my purchases. Checker suggested I stop by customer service to get a copy of their new policy which I did. They have several changes, including no rainchecks with coupons. You can get a raincheck, but can't use coupons with it when you go to redeem. I was also disappointed that they will only double up to .50 cents now, so I'll be shopping more at Gerbes or pricematching on many coupons. btw, the 3 like coupons and 15 total coupons has been the policy at the Jeff City Schnucks for as long as I've been couponing. As a side note, I only recall pleasant experiences with checkers and staff since I started couponing over the last year. |

I was so irritated this last weekend. Was doing shopping In jeff city and ran ny schnucks to grab dtinks for my son. The nos energy was 4/5. Grabbed 4 of them, had4 coupons for 1 off each...gping to pay 1 for them. Had $120 of other groceries and no other q's. Hand her the 4 nos and she tells me I can only use 3. Okok. I forgot they changed it. So told her to take 1 off. She sighs real big and says fine. Let me look for it. No problem. Told her to cancel the entire order..there are stores that do give great customer service and I will give them my money. No problem. All over $1. Arg. Love the washington store more and more. |

Trying to get back into couponing. I live here in Jeff City. Would love to get together with others to see how they do things and have a "support group".
