| Old El Paso still a profit
PLEASE NOTE all this is theory. I cannot confirm anything yet from personal experience. I checked at my store (Truse, Memphis) today and the OEP seasonings are now 75c. The cat runs through 10/4 I think (or it does according to the informational cat I got at Kroger, and I hope end dates would be the same) so if you have any of b2g1f peelies (which subtracted 1.00 automatically for me) or the 1.00/3 coupons from the Better at Home coupon book, then they will still be a "profit" if you count the beef/chicken cat as coming off the original price. Since I was going to buy beef or chicken there in the next 2 weeks anyway, that's how I figure it. I did not try this yet, but this is how it should work: 75c x 6 = 4.50 - 2 x 1.00/3 - 3.00 cat = 50c profit The small cans of beans were no longer on sale, but the big cans are 1.50. 1.50 x 6 = 9.00 - 2 x 1.00/3 - 3.00 cat = 4.00, or 67c ea. Not a bad price if you're not already overstocked on the free/profit small cans from last week, like I am. Or you can get 5 seasonings and 1 big can beans and pay 25c total. Basically you're letting the "profit" from the 5 seasonings pay for most of the cost of the beans. 75c x 5 + 1.50 = 5.25 - 2 x 1.00/3 - 3.00 cat = 25c Or if you get 4 seasonings and 2 beans, you pay 1.00, or 50c per can. 75c x 4 + 1.50 x 2 = 6.00 - 2 x 1.00/3 - 3.00 cat = 1.00 I am such a math geek!! |

Thanks! That's the store I use too. I will have to check it out since I have a meat catalina expiring tomorrow.

One another note, I'm thinking the 1.00 pillsbury items (in this weeks ad ending today, although the sale may go longer) may be net cost free if you have 3 1.00/2 IPs (or .50/2 that your store doubkles), and get the 3.00 cat wyb 6. Or even if you have the .40/2 cpns and they double, it's only 10c ea. |

Yesterday( 09/27) I bought 8 of the Pillsbury cinnamon rolls 6 ct. size(sale 10/$10.00 ) Used 4 .35/1 coupons and 2 $1.00/2 Pillsbury sweet roll coupons and received the $3.00 Pillsbury cat...I wasn't sure the cat deal would work on the smaller size but it did....I think Pillsbury cat deal ends 10/03/10 ????

I just did the OEP deal tonight and only received the $3.00 Q. Still a good deal for 8 seasonings, 2 large refried beans and 1 lb hamburger meat.....OOP was $1.33 plus the new catalina Q.

| Just curious, why did you say "only" the 3.00 cat? Were you expecting another? It was the only cat I mentioned in my post, so I just wanted to make sure no one misunderstood. You're right, it does make for a good deal, or at least decent. But the only profit would be when you buy the seasonings only.
