| Need advice shopping at Schnucks.
Hi ladies and gents... I'm making a trip to Evansville Indiana, the first weekend of December to see my In Laws, and the rest of my DH's family. While there, I am going to try to teach my MIL how to coupon, and get things for cheap or free. She said the only places to shop are Schnucks and Bi-Lo and she says they never have deals.. Which I think can't be, she is just not wanting to do the work. So when do ads start??? Does Schnucks double coupons?? Give rainchecks?? I'll get there on a Friday, and I'm taking my coupons and getting extra inserts for her. I even put together a binder for her LOL.. Thanks guys... I really need to teach them how to save money, they are struggling bad... They are sooo used to being brand loyal, and spending whatever they want, now that the economy has caught up with them, they are in a hole..... |

I would call the Schnucks store in her area and ask about the doubles because it seems to vary by store area. I am in St Louis and my store only doubles to 0.40 but I have heard of other Schnucks doubling higher. Also, my Schnucks will only take 3 identical coupons at a time. My Schnucks ad starts on Monday but some Schnucks stores start on Sunday. I would call her store and ask. Honestly, Schnucks has not had very good deals lately. I have found much better deals at Shop N Save where they give $10 off $50 on some Thursdays. Plus, SNS has had some awesome catalina deals. However, sometimes you can get a good deal when Schnucks does their $1 sales. If you have coupons for the items, you can usually get those items for very cheap to free (depends on amount that store doubles. If she has a Walgreens, she can get some great deals there too! |

Schnucks does NOT double in the Evansville area. The other store is Buehlers Buy Low which is different from Bi-Lo. Buy Low will run a double coupon day once a month, but they were recently bought out and are retaining the name but stocking IGA products. Wesselman's is a local chain and occasionally doubles 1 day a week, advertised in their weekly ad. We have Super WalMart on West and East side and a Walmart Market Grocery store but their prices seem to be higher than Walmart. Aldi's is being built on West side, not yet open. Schnucks ad runs Mon-Sun. I don't know about rainchecks at Schnucks. Quote:

I was just in Evansville yesterday and stopped in at Schnucks to check it out. The employees were very rude when asked if they doubled coupons and everyone in there seemed so upity that you needed a ladder to talk to them. We quickly left and didn't buy a thing.

Too bad. My local Schnucks is always helpful. Monday - Sunday are the ads and yes many unadvertised deals or last chance products on the shelves. They also double 50 cents and under but with a limit of 15 Q's per transaction. I have good luck in getting cataline Q's from every transaction, so that's a bonus for me. If they store doesn't double you might not be getting the super deals, but even using Qs for things you would already buy is a savings. |

Unfortunately the employees are not that coupon friendly. I have to carry an email that I have from corporate which indicates that they do in fact accept internet printed coupons. Locally in Evansville area they do not double, but many times our prices are a bit lower than what is advertised in STL area.
