Can anyone explain what safeways policy is on doubling coupons?

Doubling policies vary by store- mine does not double.

It varies WIDELY by store and area. At mine they double 3 of the same. Max of $1 total. So $.55 doubles for $.45, $.75 to $.25, etc. They will only take one IP of the same, but will double them. The will not take free IP's at all.

My area it is triple up to 39 cents and double up to 50 cents.

I tried this promotion today with mixed results. I bought exactly 25 items and everything had a tag. At checkout I received a $10 catalina instead of the $20. I took my receipt to CS, and they were going to have the CAtalina company get back with me tomorrow after they reviewed my receipt.

In other words, I was going to leave with my groceries and they'd let me know later if I really qualified for the 20 bucks or not. So, I decided to just return my purchases, and get all of the coupons back that I had used...She didn't want to do that, so she just gave me the $10 in cash...

Don't know if I wanna go thru the trouble again.

yep- that is what I was warning about in previous post- always an adventure with these promos.

If you need a couple cheaper items to make sure you qualify for the 25, here are some ideas:

Kleenex is 2/$3
Snicker Marathon bars (in health & beauty section) are 4/$5
Unfortunately- I don't know of any coupons for either of these.

There is a Safeway Guide to the Olympics booklet out in some stores that has both mannies and store coupons in it. There is a .50/1 Kleenex coupon in there. I don't know if it doubles or not, but that makes for some cheap Kleenex if you have a few books.

I haven't done this deal ever, but you guys are talking me out of it....The catalina's never print right for it?

I did go and got the $20 coupon- my cashier was very impressed- said she hadn't seen more than the $5 print out. Just make sure you are getting the items with the tag for them- not the item next to it. Also, if you need a certain item on your list- check online before you go to see if it is eligible. HTH

I need to go back and get that book! I thought they would be giving it out at the register- and of course, by that time, I had forgotten about the book and did not ask.

Can someone please explain what you bought? The list is so long I tried printing it and it says it is 104 pages long. Too much for me to print out.

Hunts 28 oz ketchup $2.00 (I had a TMF form)- I think I used a 30c off Q
Hansen's sodas 2/$4 - used a $1/2 Q
cottonelle tp 2/$11 (had $1/1 blinkies)
reddi-whip $3 - used a .30c blinkie
kleenex 2/$3 (got 4)
green giant box veggies 3/$6 (there's an 60c/2 IP Q)
snickers marathon energy bars 4/$5

HTH- I did not go for all the low item buys since I needed some of the products that were eligible anyway.
Remember that if you use a FREE Q- it will void that item as one the eligible 25.

If anyone is going to use this as a list, look out for the .55/2 Redi Whip blinkies out there. I think there were some Qs in the paper not too long ago, too.

Bertolli pasta sauce in a bag is on sale for $2.50 and there is a printable for $1/1. This had a tag for the promotion. (the sauce is in the section with the jarred sauces, not the frozen section).

All my stuff had a tag on it, so I don't know what didn't work!
I got:
4 boxes of bc cake, and they each had a peelie for 50 cents off a whip icing
4 whipped icings
3 ragu sauces
2 fruit roll ups
1 cottonelle tp
3 hamburger helpers
1 hunts ketchup
1 tysons nuggets
1 whisk soap
1 pack of scotchbrite sponges
2 loaves of bread
2 boxes special k cereal bars

I did get some of the pricier things, but I didn't want to stop at another store on my way home, and we really needed tp and laundry det., and the nuggets!!
