This is the first time I have every used so many manufacture coupons that it has happened to me. So anyway, I got in my newspaper, where Safeway has 10 off of a 50 dollar grocery purchase. When I handed in my coupons the cashier said if I scan the manufacture coupons and the total comes under 50 dollars, you won't be able to use the 10 off. Of course, I am a thrifty shopper and it does go under 50 by like 10 dollars, so I have to go get another 10 dollars worth of grocery for the coupon to work. I was just wondering has this happen to anyone before.

I always put the $10.00 Safeway coupon on the very top of all my other coupons and they always take the $10.00 off first before the other coupons I have so that's never happened to me. I would go to customer service and talk to the manager and complain.

I handed the cashier the coupons, and he took a look at it and then picked out all of manufacture coupons first and then took out the safeway coupons and said I will scan these last. I never had this happen before...I just didn't expect to pay an extra 10 dollars because I was on a tight budget but then again it's free.

I would give the cashier the $10. coupon first and after he has scanned it I would hand him the rest.
They can't make you give all the coups at once

since last month, they will not scan the 10/50 till the very last. It makes me so upset. It says on the coupon "after Safeway club and store coupons". (not the manufactures), but they still won't budge. No questions allowed!!

This is what the cashier told me too. She told me it was Vons policy but nowhere on the coupon did it mention after manu.coupons.

They should state their policy on their coupon. The worst part was that there were like two people behind us waiting for me to get the extra grocery that I didn't expect. It's kind of embarrassing having to go out of line and pick out the grocery.

Is this policy the same in every state? that would be very embarrassing and I think I would just tell them to forget all the groceries that was already rung up and bagged to make a point about how I think about that policy.
