Safeway N CA ad 02/21-27/2007 PROFITs/FREEs/HDAs/& RALLY!

Bolding highlights I noticed. Please post additional hot deals you might find. Thanks!

House Tofu extra firm 12 oz: $1.00

Enviga 12 oz 6 pk: B1G1F "save up to $6.99"

$1/1 x07-31-07 All You Mag 03-02-07
$1/1 x03-03-07 Tearpad
= B1G1F - $2.00 = ~$4.99 for 12 cans (~.42 p/can).

The rest of this post is the
"Savings Rally" $10 OYNO Cat WYB 10+ Rally Items:

* Do separate transactions for each 10.
* No limits.
* Can mix items.
* Each item yields $1 Cat value WYB 10.
* Listing below item price & then deducting $1.00 after '= sign' for Cat value.

Slim Jim sticks: $1.00 (shelf tag, not in the ad) = FREE
Note: 'Spicy' works; 'pepperoni' doesn't work but has Rally tag too, so have them scan 'spicy' variety.

Kraft To Go cheese & crackers (all varieties; shelf tag, not in the ad): $1.00 thru 02/27 = FREE.
Note: Cheese needs refrigeration. Discard packaging at home (for space). Place cheese in tupperware in fridge. Place crackers in tupperware etc outside fridge.

Manwich Sloppy Joe Sauce 15.5 oz cans (all varieties): $1.25 = $.25
$1/3 x04-30-07 Mailer
$1/3 x04-14-07 All You Mag 03-02-07
.55/2 or .40/2 x03-18-07 01-21-07 SS
= ~.08 PROFIT (depending on coupon value).

Ragu 25.6-26 oz: $1.75 = .75
Note: all (or most) UPCs/varieties are working.
26 oz .50/1 x02-28-07 Tearpad
$1/3 or .25/1 or .50/2 x03-11-07 01-14-07 V

Note: limited varieties are working (Cucumber Melon, Ocean Breeze, Tropical Coconut).
.30/1 NED Peelie
$1/1 or .75/1 x03-25-07 01-28-07 V

$1.00 Off Chicken, Beef, or Produce WYB 2 Wishbone 16+ oz x03-31-07 Tearpad
$1/2 x03-31-07 Tearpad
.60/1 or $1/2 x03-11-07 01-14-07 V
= as low as .40 (depending on coupon value).

Cottonelle 4 pk double rolls with Ripples: $3.00 = $2.00
Note: AFAIK only this UPC works 3600064004
.75/1 x04-30-07 or x08-31-07 or x12-31-07 Mailer
$1/1 or $1/3 x04-07-07 01-07-07 SS2
= as low as $1.00 = .25 p/dbl roll = ~.13 p/reg size roll (depending on coupon value).

Snapple 16 oz are $1.00 in some stores (shelf tag, not in the ad) = Free
Notes:
* Not all UPCs work.
* Locations selling 4 pks don't sell the singles (4pk lacks a pk UPC so they can't sell both).
* Haven't checked regular; these are the only working UPCs on Diet varieties:
* SNAPPLE DIET TEA 16 oz:
7618316368 RASPBERRY
7618316398 PLUM A GRANATE

* SNAPPLE DIET JUICE DRINK 16 oz:
7618316855 DIET APPLE

Kraft Mac & Cheese original individual box are .80 with Rally tag in some stores = .20 Profit.
Note: Cat will NOT print on this. Demand $10 Cash or GC. 5 pk yields the Cat, but isn't a good deal/price.

Unconfirmed Report (try at your own risk):
Pillsbury Cake Mix 18.25-18.9 oz: $1.00 (ad price) = FREE

Unconfirmed Report (try at your own risk):
Rice or Pasta Roni 4-7.2 oz: $1.00 (ad price) = FREE

$1/4 x03-31-07 01-07-07 V1
= .25 PROFIT each WYB 4 (if it works!).

Contrary to posts in other places:

Green Giant cans are not included (only expensive freezer bags/boxes are in the Cat). The cans were mistakenly on Safeway's online product (without UPC) list, but were then removed.

This deal is not universal to all Safeway regions or Safeway affiliated companies. There are some UPC list downloads posted in some forums. That list pertains to 1 (or more) Safeway regions, but is not universal. The $10 Rally cat is at most (or likely all) Safeways & affiliates, but the working UPCs (items) differ by region (not just the item prices). There are many 'overlaps', but not everything.

PERMISSION TO REPOST IS NOT GRANTED

The ad says 1 per transaction. At least in CA they are legally required to follow the ad. If your State has Consumer protection laws, contact the State AG & your local DA's office. Either way also contact the Consumer Reporters at your local TV stations & especially your major area newspapers; also the BBB.

Getting the $10 Cat requires using your Safeway (or affiliated company) card. Thus it could have been programmed to a daily limit (like some other past Safeway deals). It isn't.

Technically if you line up transactions they can stop you from paying with the $10 Cat you just got when it says on your next visit. Then you just need to walk out the door & go back in.

Respectfully, I posted this thread as Hot Deals in the Subject/Title. Of course I understand different folks will have different POVs on whether a specific item is/isn't a hot deal.

What clearly isn't a hot deal is every item a Retailer puts in an ad, or reduces a price on it, or simply because there's a coupon matchup available. Manufacturers distribute coupons geared to unsavvy shoppers who mainly use coupons that way on purchasing at non hot prices.

I realize many people seem to find value in the type of list you posted. Not only is it freely available on 1+ sites, but there's even a site making a load of money charging for that content (unbelievable to me, but true LOL). It's simply not hot deals (& generally not even good deals).

It's similar to saying Store A sells an item regularly for $2.00; Store B sells it regularly for $3.00. Store B puts it on sale or club card etc for $2.50; you buy it at Store B & your receipt says you quote 'saved' 50 cents. Did you really save 50 cents? NO, you saved nothing; you overpayed/lost at least 50 cents. This also ties in to why we don't track so-called savings & instead we just spend much less & PROFIT on our grocery/HBA shopping.

ETA: Then there's the "charity" suggestions on it. I do contribute to charities, but I wouldn't buy for charity ".75" soup (vs .50 or less), "$2.50" cereal (vs $1.00 or much less), or ".88" tuna (vs .50 or less).

How are you getting these item prices from the N CA ad?

For instance, the Welch's Juice is $3.00. What's the source of a $1.50 coupon that would make it "1.50" before Cat value?

The Cottonelle is $3.00. What's the source of a $2.01 coupon that would make it ".99" before Cat value?

Which "hunts" is .70 each before Cat value ("2.10 for 3") & how?

ETA: Safeway ad prices, Cat deals, whether they double/triple or not etc are very different by region/area. If you're referring to something other than N CA (in my Subject/Title) re prices/plan than unfortunately it's like discussing a totally different store.

Lipton Sides (a Savings Rally item) were on sale last week for $1.50 (reg price at my local Safeway is $1.93). Don't know yet what price they are this week.

For this example now, let's say $1.93 x10 = $19.30
- $10.00 Cat value
= $9.30
There are various coupons. One example:
- $3.75 using five .75/2
= $5.55
Then if you're Safeway accepts printables, you can get a FREE Rotisserie Chicken up to $5.99 using this printable link

So if the chicken is ~$5.99, you're getting it & 10 Lipton Sides for `$5.55.
One way to look at this is if you want the Rotisserie Chicken anyway, you're getting ~.44 Off & getting 10 Lipton Sides FREE.

Not all Lipton Sides are working (printing the $10 Rally Cat). These work:
* LIPTON NDL & SAUCE:
4100002290 CREAM/GARLIC
4100002297 CHKN BROC
4100002246 CHICKEN
* LIPTON NOODLES:
4100002805 THAI SESAME
* LIPTON ASIAN SIDE DISHES:
4100002802 TRYKI NOODLES
* LIPTON RICE:
4100002302 MEXICAN STYLE

Today for the first time this week I spotted 1 large back aisle display of Rice Roni with the Savings Rally poster. Grabbed 10 into a single transaction. No Catalina prints. $10 Store coupon key was used by Manager = FREE. Then she went to take down the sign. (Did same thing last week with Kraft Mac & Cheese single box Rally display.

So, keep your eyes open for similar display mistakes.

Just 1 day left, but the above item is now a PROFIT!
02-25-07 SS had .40/2 Kraft coupon good on a long list of items including Kraft To Go = .40 PROFIT on every 2.

If you buy 10 you can use five .40/2 Mfrs = $2.00 PROFIT.

If you want to pay with a prior $10.00 Cat, then you'll need to add an item or items totalling an add'l $2.00+ AC to your transaction.
