Has anyone successfully done this deal? I bought 1 cake mix and 4 frostings tonight and each one rang up 1.99. I used 4 MQ's for .50 each off for each frosting (only one of which gets doubled at Randall's), and 3 different E-coupons came off for .50 each. However nowhere on my receipt do I see the 3x$1.99 = $5.97 deducted to give me my free frostings! Did I do the deal correctly? Has anyone else had any trouble?

I swear I had the trip from hell tonight! After the transaction ends I realize that no cats are printing because the machine isn't working! All these red lights are flashing on it and the cashier just goes "oh yeah that's been doing that all night!" So she has been ringing up customers all night and cheating them out of their cats! So I didn't get my $5 cat for the HTTH, or my .50 cat for fleischman's yeast, or my free milk cat for buying frosted mini wheats! I got the manager to take care of some of those problems before I left the store but now that I've gotten home I've discovered several more issues, including the cake/frosting problem, the tuna helper ringing up $2.49 instead of $1, and the arm & hammer toothpaste ringing up at $4.79 each and the store Q which was supposed to make them $1.49 each only took off $1 for both!

Hi.. I did all the same deals last night and it worked great. Do you think maybe you forgot to put your club card number in? Thats what it sounds like me!!!!

I accidently only bought 4, so was charged for all 4. I would think I should have gotten the 2 free even if I didn't get the full 5. Anyway, so it possibly didn't work for me either. So now I need to stop by later today to fix it (get another box and my refund)

I did the deal this week at safeway...worked great!! I bought 5 frostings, priced at 1.89, 5 progresso soup 1.25, and cream cheese 1.99 (Ithought there might be overage, but don't shop safeway enough to know how it works. My store was Quadrupling Q's.
I gave her (5) .25 MQ for soup and (5) .50 MQ for frosting...it wouldn't take the last 2 for the frosting so I got those back. OOP $1.02!!
I plan to go back this week for more free frosting!!!

Wow, I hate getting home and realizing the mistake! Randalls is SO PICKY! They love to get you in the door for what looks like a great deal only to have their registers mess up.

I agree - it sounds like the cashier didn't swipe your club card. Do you see it listed on your receipt? That may be your recourse going back to the store - the store "loyalty" card.

Thank you for the responses. I did get my card scanned, because most of my other items rang up at the correct club card price. It was just these few that didn't. It makes me wonder if perhaps I accidently picked up something other than the "selected varieties" they say you have to get for the lower price.

What does the B2G3 look like on the receipt? Does the item ring up for 0.00, or does it ring up 1.99 with an immediate -1.99 subtraction below it, or is it subtracted as a store coupon further below with the rest of the coupons?

Mine said -$5.37 or something like that. Obviously the 3 frostings.

Well I went back to Randall's and was able to resolve everything. The problem was I should have checked, double-checked and triple-checked the item UPC codes with those on the shelf tags. Apparently I chose the one flavor (something like a butter flavor) in a row of about 10 different flavors on a shelf whose shelf tag didn't have a b2g3 tag attached to it. Every other flavor on the shelf and about 10 flavors on the shelf below it had that tag! Also one other flavor I bought was the correct flavor but it was an older model can with a different UPC code!

A similar problem happened with the helper meals. Some varieties had more than one package design for the same variety and a small difference in size (like one variety had both a 7.5 oz. and an 8.1 oz. size!) So I think one may have been an older model that I picked up that wasn't part of the 10/$10.

Same thing happened with the Arm & Hammer, the shelf didn't have anymore toothpaste but I found an endcap basket filled with 6 oz. A&H toothpaste that looked very much like the A&H on the coupon, and a sign on that basket saying 6 oz. A&H, $2.49 (which is the correct price before the store coupon), so I took 2 of them. It turns out it wasn't the correct toothpaste that matched the sign and price and it was actually ringing up $4.79! Thank goodness that today they had the correct one in stock and I was able to buy them and get my problems corrected!

This was $114.63 worth of groceries! At first I was made to pay $35.93 on them but after my refunds today I actually ended up paying $11.08! It just goes to show how important it is to thoroughly make sure that what you are picking up off the shelf actually matches the price or promotion on the tag!

Usually, by the time I walk through the check-out line and pay - I'm exhausted! Especially at Randalls! You're right double, triple and the check again before leaving the store!!!

I just checked my receipt after reading the posts and the deal breakfast is on us, they didn't take it off! I called to ask where it would show on the receipt and the CSR said it should say .0 next to the item. no such luck I spent over way over 50.00 over charged 10.00++ but going back tonight to get my refund.

Glad I checked this thread, I'm about to hit safeway tonight for that deal... now I know what to look out for!

My store is also upping every coupon to a dollar...so I'm hoping that I don't run into any snags!
