Okay, I'm just not understanding...bear with me!!! If Safeway sells its BOGO as BOGO and not 1/2 price each, how can you use two $1/1? Can't it just be one $1/1 because you are just buying 1? TIA for all you're help!

Many Safeways will allow two coupons on a B1G1 sale. Some do not. If yours doesn't it would work like this.

buy 1 $3.19
buy 2 FREE
use $1/1 coupon to make them $1.09/ea

oh no! I don't know what paper you get, but here in my tiny town I get the Seattle times, it seems to have the most and the best coupons available to me. My local paper is awful, very little coupons, half the time there are no inserts. Maybe if you could find a bigger city paper that would help? I don't know. Sorry you didn't get the q's. =(

I got mine in the Seattle Times as well. It was one page with 2 $1/1 coupons! You can try to go to a Barnes and Noble or Borders if you're near one and they often have LA Time, NY Times and SF Cronical.

Usually there are plenty of really good coupon inserts in the Oregonian but I'm wondering since some of the coupons I've been seeing lately or hearing about that are a little worth more are the ones we don't seem to be getting. I'm starting to wonder if it's because we can do double coupon in our area at 2 different stores. Just seems really strange how the sales differ from store to store across the US too. Guess I have to make some friends that get some extra coupons that we don't get here and do some sort of trade. I wished I could send a few Safeway double coupons and have them work in other stores like in Seattle too. I can imagine it would get a little upsetting when you read how some are getting much better deals when they can double a coupon too. My sister lives in Colorado and doesn't get double coupons there too but tells me about some of her great buys and we never get those deals here either.
Good idea about getting another newspaper at Barnes and Nobel too.

I get the Seattle Times too. I tried this weekend and got my local Sunday paper as well and was disapointed. I know what inserts I will look for if I go to the recycle this week.

BLossom has posted more than 1 good deal
Went yesterday for 6 of these V8 soups, and gave cashier 6 $1 Qs. She read them for a minute, then looked at her screen. Then she told me I could only use 3 since I am buying 3 and getting 3 free. I told her I am purchasing 6 items and using 6 coupons. She wouldn't have it, nor would she scan the coupons as I told her I have done it this way before. Ended up leaving with nothing.

Went back last night, same order of 6 soups and 6 Qs. Scanned right through without any trouble. Original cashier was an older lady that I wouldn't pick if my coupons were sketchy. However, I didn't expect any trouble with this transaction.

Yes, the $1/1 was in the Oregonian two weeks ago. Sometimes the early edition in stores on Saturday doesn't have all inserts, so better to wait until Sunday.

I try to go through my "trusted checker" lines as often as possible. It's amazing how some people will just make up "store policy" as they go along. It's as if some of them think using 6 coupons on 6 products is cheating or skin of their nose. Sad!
